On May 14, a representative of LOTTE Vietnam said that recently, on social networks, personal accounts and organizations impersonating LOTTE Mart supermarket employees have continuously appeared, calling and making friends with many people via Facebook, Zalo, Telegram... and announcing customer appreciation programs, giving rewards, giving gifts to customers, recruiting jobs... at LOTTE Mart. After that, the subjects asked the victims to transfer deposits to participate in recruitment and receive gratitude gifts.
To increase the persuasion of customers, the impostor also sent a notice signed and stamped by LOTTE Vietnam for customers to refer to. The notice content "add the bank transaction account number of LOTTE Vietnam Commercial Center Joint Stock Company".
The counterfeiter even made fake notices to send to customers.
However, many people after receiving calls and messages inviting them to participate in the above-mentioned customer appreciation program, awards, gifts, job recruitment... have been alert and called LOTTE Mart's customer service department to verify the information and avoid falling into a scam trap.
Faced with increasingly sophisticated impersonation and fraud that is affecting and causing damage to customers, LOTTE Vietnam has posted a warning notice about this counterfeit situation on the website lottemart.com.vn.

LOTTE Mart affirms that all official promotions, gratitude, customer care, lucky draw programs... of this supermarket chain are only communicated/informed to customers through the unit's official channels.
"LOTTE Mart does not recruit for work at home; does not require advance payment or deposit when recruiting for any position; does not require any form of transfer to personal accounts for any purpose" - LOTTE Mart's announcement clearly stated.
At the same time, customers are advised not to accept information from individuals, strange, unofficial channels impersonating LOTTE Mart; be vigilant to avoid unfortunate incidents. In case of receiving information, customers do not deposit when applying for a job; do not provide passwords/OTP to that person. Do not make purchase requests to increase product interaction.
Previously, some large supermarket systems were also impersonated by subjects to invite customers to participate in recruitment, receive gratitude gifts... Most recently, in March 2024, through the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong , the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trade Cooperatives ( Saigon Co.op ) warned that the phenomenon of impersonating Co.opmart to commit fraud is on the rise again.
A representative of Saigon Co.op said that the scammers have created many sophisticated scenarios to exploit customers' psychology of receiving preferential gifts and gratitude gifts. There are cases where the scammers send real gifts (of low value) as "bait" to strengthen the victims' trust.
The next times, the scammers use different excuses to ask the victim to transfer money into the account, provide personal information, bank account number... to receive gifts of greater value or to link to receive rewards and appropriate that amount.
