This is a major annual sporting event of the capital, associated with the health training movement among the people and aiming to celebrate the half-century journey of a tournament rich in tradition.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper Lai Ba Ha said that the organization of this year's tournament was carefully and professionally prepared. The launching ceremony of the tournament took place on March 23 at the Ba Kieu Temple flower garden and Hoan Kiem Lake area, combined with the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people, attracting more than 4,000 students, teenagers, the elderly, officials, civil servants, armed forces and people of the capital to participate.

This combination has created a vibrant atmosphere for physical training and sports, spreading widely throughout the wards, communes and towns in the city. Up to now, most of the schools, production facilities, communes and armed forces units in 126 communes and wards have completed the basic round, exceeding the target number of participants, while significantly improving the quality of the competition.

As planned, the final round will open at 7am on Sunday, September 28, at Ba Kieu Temple and the area around Hoan Kiem Lake. The event will gather more than 3,000 athletes and officials from communes, wards, universities, colleges, vocational high schools in Hanoi and many other provinces and cities.

Notably, 250 international athletes who are officials and staff of 20 embassies, international organizations, and international schools working and studying in Hanoi participated, contributing to the beauty of friendly exchange.

This year’s season has many new features to increase the attractiveness. For the first time, the Organizing Committee has added a competition exclusively for sponsors with a distance of 1,750m for both men and women.

In addition, the application of technology is also focused: the software to support athletes in saving their competition images with codes worn through the AI system will continue to be deployed, helping each athlete easily look up their images on the fanpage of Hanoi Moi Newspaper. This is a step forward to improve the quality of organization, modernize the tournament, and at the same time create more connection for participants.

According to Mr. Dao Quoc Thang, Head of the Department of Sports Management (Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports), this year's final round will feature 12 competitions in both grassroots and advanced levels, with a total of 12 sets of medals. The total prize value is nearly 250 million VND. Coordination with departments and branches such as the City Police, the Department of Health , etc. has been implemented to ensure absolute safety for athletes and participants.

Not only attracting a large number of amateur athletes, this year’s tournament continues to be a meeting place for many professional athletes. Nearly 200 athletes from 16 provinces, cities, industries and 10 universities and colleges across the country have registered to participate.

Many leading faces of Vietnamese athletics continue to participate, such as Tran Van Dang (Hanoi), Nguyen Trung Cuong (Ha Tinh), Trinh Quoc Luong (Army), along with emerging young talents such as Nguyen Thu Ha (Nam Dinh), Han Thi Bich Thu, Duong Minh Hung (Army), Tran Minh Van (Thai Nguyen), Bui Thu Ha (Thanh Hoa)... These are all national team athletes, who have won many gold medals at domestic and international tournaments, promising to create quality and attractive competitions.

The final round of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025 is not only a major sporting event of the capital, but also an opportunity to spread the spirit of health training, strengthen international friendship and affirm the position of a long-standing traditional tournament.

With innovation in organization, the participation of many domestic and international athletes and increasingly improved professional quality, the tournament promises to bring special marks, worthy of the 50-year journey of construction and development.
