Warm meals in storm shelter

(Baohatinh.vn) - Not only supporting households to safe shelters, local authorities in Ha Tinh also take care of people's lives and meals.

By the late afternoon of September 28, the People's Committee of Dan Hai commune had completed the evacuation of 1,254 households with 3,244 people in areas at risk of being affected by storm No. 10 to safe shelters.

Most of the people evacuated were elderly and children.

Immediately after arriving at the shelters, along with arranging sleeping places, the Dan Hai commune authorities prepared food, necessities and meals for the people.

Preparing thousands of meals is not a simple task, especially in the context of having to respond to storm No. 10, but the Dan Hai commune government still tried to complete it, contributing to the peace of mind of people in the storm shelter.

At 6 p.m., when the meal was cooked, the Dan Hai commune forces divided the meals to each storm shelter.

Hot meals were delivered to people at storm shelter No. 10.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Dan Hai Commune, Tran Quynh Thao, said: Mobilizing and supporting people to go to storm shelters is a very necessary task to protect people's lives and health from the impact of storm No. 10. The locality has calculated plans to make people feel secure at the shelters and not return home when the weather is still unfavorable.

With the attention of the Party Committee and government of Dan Hai commune, people feel secure in the shelter from storm No. 10.

Ban Giang Border Guard Station coordinated with the authorities of Phuc Trach commune ( Ha Tinh ) to evacuate households with 20 people of the Chut ethnic group to a safe storm shelter.

Here, people are provided with adequate food and drink, ensuring safety at the evacuation site.

Nghi Xuan Commune Women's Union coordinated with staff and teachers of Xuan Giang Kindergarten to cook dinner for the people of Hong Lam "oasis" taking shelter from the storm at the school.

Hot meals not only warm the stomach but also warm the solidarity of compatriots in natural disasters.

On the evening of September 28, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ky Loi commune (old), the logistics force of Song Tri ward urgently prepared dinner for people evacuated to avoid storm No. 10. Meals were cooked on the spot, ensuring hygiene and nutrition.

Officials, members of local organizations and volunteers do not mind the difficulties, serving each meal with a spirit of responsibility and sharing.

Evacuees in the Vung Ang Economic Zone lined up in an orderly manner to receive dinner. Each meal was full of vegetables, meat, and soup and was distributed free of charge. Representatives of the Party Committee and the Song Tri Ward government directly visited and encouraged the people in the evacuation area. The timely presence of the leaders helped the people feel more secure during the complicated storms.

In the temporary evacuation area, families gathered around a simple but warm meal, adding faith and motivation to overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters.
