Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Chu Van Tuan, Director of the Institute of Religious Studies (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) said that the importance of sustainable development of land border areas in the context of globalization and emerging challenges in security, society, and economy .

Border areas are not only places for economic trade but also cultural and social exchanges between countries, requiring sustainable and harmonious development policies.

Protecting human security and ensuring the rights of ethnic minority communities in border areas is a key task in building a fair, stable and developed society.

There is a need to strengthen international cooperation, especially with neighboring countries, to address common problems such as cross-border crime, climate change and social unrest.

Associate Professor, Dr. Chu Van Tuan, Director of the Institute of Religious Studies, delivered the opening speech at the conference.

At the workshop, delegates focused on proposing specific solutions, including: Ethnic policies to ensure comprehensive development for ethnic minority communities; human security in the Vietnam-Cambodia border area, especially in the context of new challenges in security and cross-border crime.

Proposed solutions include strengthening border management, developing policies to support sustainable development for local people and ensuring security and order through close coordination between countries.

Researcher Linh Giang, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, shared about the labor and employment issues from the practice in border provinces in the past 10 years. Although many positive results have been achieved, especially in the shift of labor from agriculture, forestry, and fishery to industry, construction, and services, the quality of labor is still low, vocational training is weak, unemployment rate is high, especially among young people; the labor shift process has not met market demand.

Proposing to reduce the natural population growth rate, convert employment from informal to formal, improve the quality of labor resources, especially focusing on vocational training.

Master Kim Thanh San said that in the context of globalization, cross-border fraud activities via cyberspace are increasing, making traditional borders no longer enough to protect people from online fraud. This poses a big challenge for sustainable development, requiring close cooperation between countries to solve the problem...
