Joy of the opening day at the first school of the Mong people in Lam Dong

On September 6, the People's Committee of Dam Rong 2 Commune ( Lam Dong Province) coordinated with Lieng Srong Primary School to organize the opening ceremony and officially establish Tay Son school. This is the first school for Mong ethnic children living in isolation in the deep forest.

Overview of the opening ceremony and establishment of Tay Son school.

The school is more than 20km from the center of Dam Rong 2 commune, nestled in the clouds and the roads are just muddy trails. From early morning, more than 70 children, for the first time, wore white shirts and trousers, happily attending the opening ceremony at the school that many generations of parents had dreamed of.

Mr. Giang A Sung - a prestigious person in Tay Son sub-region shared that the people here have longed for a school. Previously, the roads were far and muddy, sending their children to the center to study was extremely difficult. Now that there is a school near their home, parents have the opportunity to pay more attention to their children's education, the joy of the whole village is therefore even more complete.

Established amid the overwhelming joy of the people, Tay Son school marked an important milestone in the journey of spreading knowledge in the great forest. In the first school year, the school welcomed 76 students from grades 1 to 4, taught by two teachers who also held many other jobs.

“The school was built spacious, clean and safe thanks to the cooperation of the government, organizations and parents. This will be the first home of knowledge for the children,” Ms. Pham Thi Nguyen - Principal of Lieng Sronh Primary School emotionally shared.

The children were excited to attend the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Dam Rong 2 Commune Party Secretary Ndu Ha Bien affirmed that the birth of the school is the result of the aspirations of many generations of parents in remote areas, and at the same time hopes that the team of teachers will continue to maintain their enthusiasm and have appropriate methods for Mong children.

Leaders of Dam Rong 2 commune presented gifts to two teachers at the school.

"The commune government also committed to creating conditions to soon open more kindergarten and grade 5 classes for students here. I request that the commune's departments and offices continue to create all favorable conditions for the school to come into operation and for students to go to school in the most convenient way," shared the Secretary of Dam Rong 2 commune.
