The common price of lamps and fan heaters ranges from 400,000 to more than 1 million VND; some high-end products with improved designs cost 2-3 million VND. These prices have been reduced by 10-60% (depending on the product) according to the supermarket's stimulus discount program."

Electrical appliance stores in the area around Ha Tinh City market have also recorded an increase in customers looking to buy heating devices. Traders said that heating lamps and fans placed in rooms or bathrooms are seasonal products, and customers usually only look to buy them when it is very cold. This year, this is the first time these products have sold well and the price of the devices that many customers buy ranges from 300,000 to 700,000 VND/piece.

According to many business owners, this year winter came late, from early to mid-December the weather was still not cold, so shop owners were quite worried when winter goods had been imported. However, when the weather turned cold, customers flocked to the store, so shop owners continued to import additional goods to serve shoppers.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thao Linh (Tran Phu Ward, Ha Tinh City) said: "The weather suddenly turned cold, especially in the morning when I went to work, it was freezing cold, so I had to buy extra long down jackets and turtleneck sweaters to cope with this year's winter. Seeing that the weather forecast was very cold, I also bought an oil heater for 800,000 VND to put in the bedroom to warm the family at night."

In addition to heating equipment and warm clothes, blanket and mattress stores are also in a bustling business season. According to store owners, the most popular products are still electric blankets and mattresses. Prices of these items at this time have not fluctuated much compared to previous years.

Wool blankets and electric mattresses are best-selling products during this cold spell.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc - an employee at Dung Phuong bedding store (Xuan Dieu Street, Ha Tinh City) said: "The psychology of many consumers is to wait until the cold season to buy products to keep warm. This year, this is the first cold spell, so the number of customers has increased compared to before, starting from about 4-5 days ago. The products that customers choose the most are still wool blankets with prices from 300,000 to nearly 3 million VND, electric mattresses priced at 800,000 VND or more and carpets ranging around 300,000 VND".

According to the forecast of the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, the weather will continue to be cold in the coming days. During the day, the sky may be sunny but the temperature will still drop sharply, especially at night and early morning. Therefore, people need to proactively take measures to ensure they stay warm and safe for their health.
