Actress 'Love Storm' has thyroid cancer

On November 6, ChinaTimes reported that Hsu Ruoxuan was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The actress revealed that she discovered the disease during a routine health check-up earlier this year. This information left her feeling shocked and bewildered.

The actress shared: "I got divorced at the end of 2023, then in early 2024 I was diagnosed with cancer. Those were two big shocks for me in a short time. I wondered why it was me."

After calming down, Hsu quickly arranged to be hospitalized and undergo surgery at the National Taiwan University Hospital. After the surgery, the actress' throat was paralyzed. The doctor advised her to rest for the next 2-3 months and not to participate in performances.

Due to the removal of the tumor, the position of the muscles in her throat area was also changed. Hsu had to actively practice to regain her voice. She also attended rehabilitation classes, learned to sing and had physical therapy for her muscles... The actress said she still felt lucky to have the habit of regular health check-ups, so she detected the cancer and treated it early. During this time, her family was an important spiritual support that helped her have the motivation to overcome all difficulties.

Born in 1975, Hsu Ruoxuan entered the entertainment industry after winning first prize in the Talent Beauty contest organized by CTS in 1990. In the same year, she joined a girl group called Girls' Team with two other members, Ngo Boi Tu and Vuong An Ham. However, the group was not very effective and soon disbanded. Hsu Ruoxuan then worked as an 18+ photo model and then turned to acting. She is known through many television projects, notably Love Storm.

Hsu Ruoxuan has dated and publicly expressed her feelings for Ngo Ky Long, Ngo Kien Hao, Sugizo, or Ha Tich Kinh... In mid-2014, the actress got married to businessman Ly Van Phong. After that, she became pregnant and gave birth to son Dalton at the age of 40. The actress divorced at the end of 2023.
