Do Bao Trang is a 9B student at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. In the recent 10th grade entrance exam, in the 3 general subject exams, Trang achieved a perfect score of 10 in math, 9.75 in foreign language, and 8.25 in literature. In particular, she achieved 9.5 in the specialized physics exam.
Trang's total admission score to the physics major is 47 points, 6.5 points higher than the standard score for the physics major at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. This is also the school she chose to attend during her high school years.
Study hard, don't overdo it, achieve balance through fun
Trang said she began to have a special love for physics after being selected for the school team. In the team, there were a number of female seniors who excelled in physics and were always among the team’s elite students. The image of seniors excelling in a subject that was considered a strength of male students made Trang very excited.

I take that as motivation to try harder, "to be like my sisters". Trang also hopes that the impressive results she achieved in the recent exam will be an inspiring example for female students to confidently pursue natural sciences .
For Trang, math and physics are two subjects that she loves, but physics attracts her more. Physics contains both mathematical knowledge and also helps her explain many interesting phenomena in life, understanding more about the laws hidden behind things that seem simple and obvious.
Trang’s advice for female students who want to pursue natural sciences is to study hard, master the fundamental knowledge of the subject, to create a solid foundation of knowledge. This is the decisive factor in studying well in any subject.
During the learning process, Trang always focuses on self-study because for her, self-study time is the time for her to deepen her knowledge and realize her strengths in learning. Regarding the logic of self-study methods, Trang focuses on reviewing old lessons to firmly grasp the knowledge that has been learned, to truly "absorb the lessons and absorb the knowledge".
Before the 10th grade entrance exam, I did not practice too many specialized exam questions, because in my opinion, everything will only have good results when going in the right direction, "knowing enough", knowing when to stop, knowing your own limits. Pushing yourself into a state of studying too hard, diligently solving too many sets of questions is something Trang always avoids.
To reduce stress after school, Trang spends time watching movies, hanging out with friends, and proactively sharing with friends about her problems in studying and life.
She said finding suitable friends and like-minded people to share with is the secret to helping her have a good mentality and achieve balance on the long journey of pursuing her education.
Trang also focuses on pursuing her own hobbies to have positive, relaxing emotions after school. She does not necessarily pursue any one hobby but wants to experience a variety of things, so she constantly changes her hobbies, creating new experiences for herself. Trang has spent time teaching herself to play the guitar, piano, and painting...
When I find myself interested in a subject, I will spend more time on it. Trang finds herself singing quite well, this is also the hobby that follows her the most “durably”. Trang is always enthusiastic in participating in cultural activities at school, especially contributing to singing performances.
All these experiences help Trang understand herself better, so she can determine the right direction for her future self-development.
Simple tips to study well and have fun
In studying and life, whenever she encounters any difficulty, Trang's logic of thinking and action is to stop, to look back at herself, to see what she can do to improve, to see if she can overcome it herself. If she cannot do it, she will seek support from family, teachers, friends...
Trang's goal during her high school years is to focus on deepening her knowledge of physics, participating in excellent student competitions, increasing her personal experience through extracurricular activities, understanding herself better... After that, she hopes to be able to study abroad to broaden her horizons.

In life, Trang idolizes her father, because her father was also a very good student. In his current job, his father demonstrates good management skills, as well as the ability to balance work and family life effectively. His father is a role model and motivation for Trang to strive to improve herself.
Talking about his daughter's learning process, Mr. Do Ba Dan - father of female student Do Bao Trang - said that she has a very proactive spirit and self-discipline. She makes her own study schedule and arranges her own timetable, even Trang knows how to take care of her own physical and mental health, to be able to best meet the requirements of studying.
What Mr. Dan and his wife always aim for in their journey of raising children is to create the most comfortable and happy mentality possible for their children when they are with their family and relatives. According to him, a balanced mentality, along with a happy and harmonious family atmosphere, are important conditions for teenagers to be able to study and train themselves to develop well.
As for Trang, she determined to develop herself in a comprehensive way, not falling into the situation of "a bookworm who only knows how to study". To do that, she believes that using time effectively is very important. Each day, everyone only has 24 hours, but if you know how to make the most of your time, each person will be able to do more in that very fair 24-hour period.

Having just passed the 10th grade entrance exam with flying colors, Bao Trang is already mentally preparing for... the next exams (Photo: NVCC).
Trang’s secret to having time for studying, playing, entertaining and making friends is to focus on studying in class. There are students who overemphasize the importance of extra classes, so they are somewhat negligent and lack concentration in class.
But according to Trang, if you focus on studying in class, you will reduce the time you spend on self-studying, and even reduce the time you spend on extra classes. From there, you will have more time to do many other interesting things, to develop yourself in the long term.
With the results she achieved in the recent 10th grade entrance exam, the female physics valedictorian sees that what she has achieved is nothing to be "proud of". Trang believes that there are certainly many other people who are better than her. Even though she was valedictorian in this exam, it is not certain that Trang will achieve ideal results in other exams.
Finally, I have just passed an exam, there are many other exams ahead that are also very important. Trang tells herself that she always needs to maintain a persistent effort, to have the best preparation for other exams, other steps that she needs to conquer.
