"King of Kpop" PSY performs Gangnam Style in HCMC, 10,000 people explode

On the evening of November 24, the GENfest festival took place for the second night in Thu Duc City (HCMC), with the participation of many singers such as Quang Hung Master D, Suboi, tlinh, WEAN, Wxrdie, MONO, Wren Evans... Notably, "Kpop king" PSY was the last artist to perform in the program but still brought an explosive atmosphere to more than 10,000 live audiences. Opening the 30-minute performance, PSY brought the hit Gentleman - a song released in 2013, currently with 1.6 billion views on YouTube. Although it was 12:00 a.m. when PSY performed, Vietnamese fans were still full of energy, continuously cheering and enthusiastically supporting the Korean star. Interacting with fans, PSY said he was very happy to meet Vietnamese audiences. At the age of 46, PSY still maintains his ability to stir up the stage and his impressive live singing voice. "Our communication languages are different, but we share another language: music," PSY shared. Next, PSY made the music festival atmosphere more exciting with familiar melodies of songs like Daddy, That that, New face, I luv it. At the end of the show, the male singer performed Gangnam Style - the most successful hit of his career. More than 10,000 audiences present at the show sang and danced to the music, creating a satisfying ending moment. The second music night of the GENfest festival started at 5pm, later than expected due to the weather. Quang Hung Master D opened the show explosively, bringing songs that are loved by Gen Z such as "Tie me up", "Love first too drunk"... Next were singers such as WEAN, Suboi... performing solo performances for 30-40 minutes, bringing the audience a colorful music party. Singer MONO appeared in the middle of the show. Son Tung M-TP's younger brother brought a more mature image in music. At the beginning of the performance, the male singer surprised fans when he swung on a rope and appeared from above in the Intro and Kill me performances. Besides the song Waiting for you, which was arranged in a gentle and profound style, MONO also exploited the national cultural imprint in the performance Em xinh , receiving the audience's response. tlinh was also a hot name when performing at the second night of GENfest. She invested in costumes, stage themes, powerful dancers and performed 17 songs, which was likened to "tlinh's miniature concert". Notably, the female singer also brought many guests on stage, making fans go from one surprise to another. Rappers like JustaTee, Suboi, Coldzy, Vstra, Low G... had a good collaboration with tlinh in a series of songs Fever, Superheroine, True Lies, No Need to Say Much, Mulberry... At the end of the performance, tlinh also made fans excited when she gave the stage to her boyfriend Wxrdie, introducing him as "my favorite artist". Singer Wren Evans also made a big impression at the concert. He dyed his hair platinum, wore royal-style clothes, and performed many hits such as "Thich em lo nhieu", "Phong do tim em", "Tung quen"... Wren Evans also brought some newly arranged songs to the stage such as "Baby, slowly", "Call me"... He also entertained fans by playing the guitar and performing a new song called "Thu doi". Besides, rapper WEAN Le also made fans extremely excited when his "ex-lover" Naomi appeared in his performance. The two performed the song She said with many natural interactions that made fans gasp. This was the first time he and singer Naomi performed their song together since they went their separate ways. GENfest 2024 has the theme "Street in the Street", conveying the message of discovering miniature streets imbued with Vietnamese culture, taking place on November 23-24 in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. The program is directed by director Duong Mai Viet Anh and music director SlimV. In the first music night, the program has performances by Korean singers such as Hwasa, LOCO and Vietnamese stars: HIEUTHUHAI, Duong Domic, Chi Pu, Karik... Not just a regular music festival, the program also has many interesting cultural, culinary and exchange activities taking place all day, demonstrating the modern and creative spirit of Gen Z. According to the organizers, the 2-day festival this year attracted about 35,000 spectators.
