A business recruited nearly 6,500 new employees

2024 is still a year that will see many changes in personnel, with businesses cutting thousands of employees. Streamlining is carried out from many different perspectives, such as eliminating ineffective areas, restructuring efforts, applying digital transformation, etc.

On the contrary, some businesses will have a strong increase in the number of employees in 2024, creating jobs for many workers.

For example, atFPT , the number of employees increased in 2024 to 6,484 people. The consolidated financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024 shows that the total number of FPT employees at the end of last year was 54,646 people.

The increase in workforce also contributed to boosting the group's business results. FPT's profit after tax for the whole year of 2024 reached VND9,420 billion, up nearly 21% over the previous year. This is also the highest profit FPT has achieved and the 6th consecutive year of setting a profit record.

Not only the "big guy" in the technology industry, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) has also just had a quite positive year with after-tax profit reaching 2,114 billion VND, an increase of 7% compared to the previous year.

PNJ's number of employees has increased by nearly 1,300 people after 1 year, reaching 8,969 employees by the end of 2024.

In the context of aviation recovery, Vietjet Air Joint Stock Company (VJC) is also stepping up recruitment. The consolidated financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024 explains that the number of employees of the low-cost airline reached 6,702, an increase of 570 compared to the beginning of the year.

Regarding business performance, in 2024, VJC's after-tax profit will still reach VND 1,426 billion, nearly 6.2 times higher than in 2023. VJC's revenue alone will reach a record level of VND 71,858 billion, up 23% over the previous year.

Automobile distribution and retail businesses are differentiated.

More notably, although the auto market has not completely recovered and competition is increasingly fierce, a business in this industry still shows great potential by recruiting hundreds of additional employees.

The company in question is Hang Xanh Auto Service Joint Stock Company (HAX). The report shows that at the end of last year, HAX had a total of 1,514 employees, an increase of 552 people after one year.

The expansion of the "troops" took place in the context of this enterprise's quite positive business results compared to many "big guys" in the same industry.

Specifically, according to the self-made report, Hang Xanh's revenue for the whole year of 2024 reached 5,513 billion VND, an increase of nearly 41% compared to the previous year. And the profit after tax for the whole year reached 203 billion VND, nearly 5.5 times higher.

As the leading distributor of luxury cars, accounting for about 40% of the Mercedes-Benz market share in Vietnam, in a report sent to the Securities Commission for the third quarter of 2024, Mr. Do Tien Dung - Chairman of Haxaco, said: "Haxaco's nationwide MG car dealership system has 12 dealers operating effectively, contributing to the rapid and strong growth of car sales in the period".

The economic difficulties have forced people to tighten their spending, especially in the luxury segment. Therefore, the distribution of MG cars has helped the luxury car sales tycoon improve its business results.

Meanwhile, in the retail business group, there is a strong differentiation in terms of staff size. Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG) is famous in the market for drastically cutting nearly 1,800 employees to restructure and make business operations more efficient, while some "competitors" have increased the size of their workforce.

For example, Digital World Joint Stock Company (DGW) increased by nearly 50 people, reaching 862 employees at the end of the year. Meanwhile, FPT Digital Retail Joint Stock Company (FRT) increased by 3,753 people after one year, bringing the total number of employees to 21,552 when preparing the financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024.
