As a communication campaign, 'Identify Fraud' will focus on educating social media users on how to effectively avoid 6 out of 24 forms of online fraud identified by the Department of Information Security as 'hot spots' in Vietnam, including: Investment fraud; Employment fraud; Financial fraud; Loan fraud; Lottery fraud; Impersonation fraud. In the 'Identify Fraud' campaign, a series of images and short videos on how to identify and handle online fraud will be posted on Meta's social media platforms and the National Cyber ​​​​Portal information channel operated by the Department of Information Security, as well as on Meta's website 'Digital Age Thinking' at wethinkdigital.fb.com. Notably, according to the organizers, in order to widely spread good and easy-to-remember 'tips' to help the majority of social network users learn and protect themselves from the risks of fraud in the online environment, the 'Identify Fraud' campaign will have the participation of famous content creators in Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen Phu Luong, Deputy Director of the National Cyber ​​Security Monitoring Center - NCSC, Department of Information Security, emphasized: Social networks are fertile ground for cybercriminals to commit fraud. Just one minute of subjectivity, negligence and lack of knowledge, people can fall into the trap at any time. The NCSC representative also affirmed: Propagating to raise people's awareness of online fraud is one of the top priorities of the Department of Information Security. When each person, each vulnerable group knows how to identify and be more vigilant against fraud tricks, it will help reduce the story of online fraud to some extent in the coming time. “With the 'Scam Detection' campaign in collaboration with Meta, we also aim to equip every digital citizen with the ability to self-identify scam traps and improve their self-protection skills in cyberspace,” shared a representative of NCSC.

Committing to Meta's efforts to prevent fraudulent activities that affect the user experience, Mr. Ruici Tio, Program Manager of the Asia- Pacific Safety Policy of this technology group, also said that it will continue to strengthen communication and education so that more users are aware of fraudulent activities. Last year, Meta deployed the first phase of the 'Scam Identification' campaign specifically for Vietnam, reaching millions of users and attracting hundreds of thousands of visits to the group's 'Digital Age Thinking' Online Safety Portal.
