Launching the "Encouraging Digital Learning" movement and Lifelong Learning Week

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; Prof. Dr. Le Quan, Deputy Minister of Education and Training ; representatives of central ministries, branches and leaders of Associations for Promoting Education in some localities.

Launching the digital learning promotion movement and lifelong learning response week -0 — Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President, President of Vietnam Association for Promoting Education chaired the ceremony.

Mr. Le Manh Hung, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, said: On October 2, 1996, the Vietnam Association for Promoting and Supporting Education (abbreviated as the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education) was established under Decision No. 122/TTg dated February 29, 1996 of the Prime Minister. The Vietnam Association for Promoting Education is a social organization assigned by the Party and the State, the target of mobilization is all people in society to encourage, support, and promote learning of people in residential areas, learning in all levels, sectors, units, armed forces, enterprises in all areas of social life.

During the 29 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Association for Promotion of Education, with the spirit of originating from the heart, journey of knowledge, raising intelligence, innovation for the cause of promoting education, promoting talents, building a learning society, has contributed practically to improving the quality of human resources, meeting the requirements of the country's development, for the people's learning to have a better life.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the "Digital Learning Promotion" movement and the Lifelong Learning Week 2025, President of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Education Nguyen Thi Doan emphasized: Along with the digital transformation movement, the building of a learning society, lifelong learning, education and training are undergoing many profound changes. People have many opportunities to absorb necessary knowledge, improve comprehensive skills to meet new requirements in the context of deep integration with the world. However, the proficient use of smart devices to absorb knowledge is still difficult for a large number of people.

The “Digital Education Promotion” movement launched today aims to arouse the will to “Eliminate illiteracy and technological illiteracy” in the 4.0 Revolution, promote the spirit of self-study, lifelong learning, and build a learning society in the new era following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, the movement also demonstrates the high determination of the entire Association system in promoting the implementation of the “Digital Education for All” movement launched by the Prime Minister.

Also at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan said that the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education have long had a very close, effective and comprehensive coordination relationship. The Ministry of Education and Training highly appreciates and appreciates the proactive and core role of the Association in advising and proposing to the Party and State major policies and guidelines on promoting education, talent, and building a learning society. Thanks to that close coordination, the two agencies have jointly advised the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Government to issue many important directives, decisions, and projects, creating a legal corridor to strongly promote education, talent, lifelong learning, and building a learning society across the country.

Also according to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan, to respond and put the movement into practice, the Ministry of Education and Training will coordinate with the Vietnam Association for Promotion of Education and relevant ministries and branches to implement three key tasks. One is to focus on perfecting institutions and policies; two is to promote the development of national infrastructure and digital learning materials; three is to build "lifelong learning profiles" for citizens and upgrade community learning centers into digital learning centers, with Internet, open learning materials, linked to people's learning needs, closely linked to the national digital transformation program.
