On the morning of August 7, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of the Conference on training and fostering professional skills in cultural and sports work in 2025, at the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials.

Attending the conference were nearly 200 experts in charge of culture and sports from the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of wards, communes and special zones.

Training on 12 cultural and social topics

The conference took place on August 7 and 8 to exchange and guide knowledge and professional skills for the team of cadres and civil servants in charge of cultural and sports work at the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones in various fields.

This is also an opportunity to exchange and share experiences and effective ways of serving in localities.

The organizers said that the 2025 training conference on cultural and sports work will share 12 topics.

- State management work on building grassroots cultural life and building Ho Chi Minh cultural space.

- State management of family and prevention of domestic violence.

- State management of festivals, karaoke, dance halls, advertising, fine arts, photography, and exhibitions.

- Visual propaganda work; skills in building, managing and operating club, team and group activities.

- State management of cultural heritage and naming and renaming of streets and public works in the city.

- State management of press - publishing; electronic information; arts; sports; culture, sports...

Localities link up to promote strengths

Mr. Tran The Thuan - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, head of the steering committee - said that the conference helps experts in the fields of culture and sports to initially visualize the concept of their work and labor.

According to statistics from the HCM City Department of Culture and Sports, 40% of specialists assigned to work in the cultural and social fields in general have no practical experience in the field they are assigned to.

“Cultural space, cultural values ​​of Vietnamese people, and ethical standards must spread from the grassroots to create sustainability.

Traffic culture, office culture, community culture, behavioral culture, family culture... are elements that create culture for development, of Ho Chi Minh City culture.

The conference helps experts avoid the simplistic understanding that culture is only about cultural activities, bringing achievements and quantity of activities, but also about the effectiveness and results. Organizing activities must understand the ultimate goal, not the method or form of organization" - Mr. Tran The Thuan told Tuoi Tre Online .

He also emphasized that no locality is capable of creating cultural and sports activities to meet the needs of the community because culture and sports have no borders or administrative boundaries.

Artists and high-achieving athletes from all over the country gather in Ho Chi Minh City. These individuals, after maturing, spread out and contribute to the local areas.

Without connection and coordination between localities in the region, between localities with strengths, it is very difficult to organize, maintain and promote cultural and sports activities.
