Unique folk performing arts
With deep pride in traditional arts, the highlight of the series of activities of this year's Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival is the folk dance performance with the participation of hundreds of people from all over the province. The opening was an impressive performance by the Sa Cat Parish drum dance team ( Thai Binh city) - the team with the largest drum and gong in Vietnam. The bustling, jubilant sounds seemed to invite and urge people to the festival in the performances of greeting drums, presentation drums, and festival drums with the meaning of symbolizing the spirit of solidarity, community cohesion, and welcoming the new spring, creating a joyful atmosphere. The dances were elaborately staged like a diverse, unique picture recreating the traditional cultural features of the land and people of Thai Binh that are still preserved to this day. In particular, the dance of Ong Dung and Ba Da symbolizes the desire to flourish and hope for many fruits; Senh tien dance - the wooden fish with skillful movements of beating the money bell shows the talent and dexterity of the girl; the dry-brush swimming dance commemorates the merit of Saint Duong Khong Lo - who cured the king's illness; the frog-catching dance depicts the youth of Saint Duong Khong Lo with his parents who worked as fishermen, going to the canals to catch fish and frogs to make a living; the spear-flag and fan dance with 36 levels of dance depicts the mood of a princess before going far away to say goodbye to her father; the word-pulling dance is both a game and a sport and has educational ideas and high artistry, simulating battles and returning victorious...
Mr. Bui Tan Yen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Commune (Kien Xuong) shared: Honored to represent Kien Xuong District to participate in the performance at the festival, the folk dragon dance team of Binh Dinh Commune brought a performance that has been practiced and performed regularly in cultural events and festivals, becoming a unique cultural feature of the locality. The dance carries the aspiration to rise up to build an increasingly prosperous and happy life, to build an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity.
Supporting the students in the letter pulling dance performance, teacher Nguyen Thi Dao, Quynh Hong Secondary School (Quynh Phu) said: 120 students were very eager to perform the letter pulling dance, bringing to the program the Thai and Binh letters, combined to form the Thai Binh letter. The advantage in practicing and performing the letter pulling dance is that the students were born and raised in the place where the famous La Van festival is located, and their grandparents and parents have participated in the letter pulling dance performance during the annual festivals, so naturally, they inherited the pride and desire to contribute to preserving the cultural identity of their homeland.
Spread the passion
Continuing the series of folk art programs, the lion dance and traditional martial arts competition of the province was organized, gathering 200 athletes from 12 strong clubs in the province with special performances such as: drum dance, lion dance, pole climbing lion dance, four seasons dragon dance... Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Head of Hung Nghia Duong lion dance troupe informed: The members of the troupe are most enthusiastic and invested in the dragon dance because this year is the year of the dragon. The enthusiastic cheers of the audience not only encourage the brothers in the troupe to try harder on stage but also acknowledge the efforts of the whole troupe over the past months.
Traveling more than 30km with his children to watch the lion dance performance, Mr. Duong Van Duc, an audience member, said: The weather was rainy and cold, but the enthusiasm of the performing troupes on stage as well as the audience brought everyone closer together in a very warm and friendly atmosphere. What is admirable is that the lion dance troupes attracted a lot of young people with impressive performances that combined tradition and modernity, continuing the beauty of national culture.
450 members of 35 dance clubs from provinces and cities across the country is an impressive number showing the attraction of the international music and dance exchange program within the framework of the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of the province this year. At the program, more than 10 members of the Anh Duong Dance Club (Provincial Blind Association) confidently performed. The music resounded, although their eyes were closed and they could not see, in return, their ears and bodies followed each beat of the music. When the performance ended, there was also endless applause and congratulations, sharing joy for the club members as well as coach Do Thanh Tuan, who directly inspired the passion and worked side by side with the members of the Anh Duong Dance Club. Coach Do Thanh Tuan shared: To perfect the basic dance performed at the program, the club members spent more than 2 months practicing very carefully with a lot of effort, passion, and determination, which I really admire.
Rich in content and form, imbued with cultural identity, the activities of the Provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival on March 21st attracted the participation of all classes of people, thereby creating a good impression on visitors from all over the country. Within the framework of the festival, for the first time, a conference to deploy electronic booths on the Smart Tourism Portal to promote and introduce impressive destinations within the province was also held. Thereby practically arousing pride, love for the homeland and country and encouraging and motivating each citizen to actively work, produce, work, study, contributing to the completion of the socio-economic development goals of the province.
