The movie "Red Rain" surpassed the revenue mark of 465 billion VND, setting a series of records.

With a revenue of over 465 billion VND, the movie "Red Rain" not only leads the Vietnamese box office in 2025 up to now, but also makes Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen the first female director to have a movie reach the 400 billion VND mark.

The film "Red Rain" by the People's Army Cinema has surpassed Tran Thanh's "The Four Guardians" (VND 332 billion), becoming the highest-grossing Vietnamese film of 2025 to date. Notably, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen also made cinema history when she became the first Vietnamese female director to have a film surpassing the VND 400 billion mark.

By the morning of September 4, the People's Army Cinema's work had earned more than 465 billion VND. After two weeks of showing, the appeal of "Red Rain" has not cooled down.

Previously, on September 1 alone, the film reached 55 billion VND, the highest daily revenue of Vietnamese cinema, surpassing the record that Tran Thanh's "Mai" once held (43.9 billion VND).

Released on August 22, "Red Rain" continuously sets records and has special significance as part of a series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

"Red Rain" was written by writer Chu Lai, inspired by the 81 days and nights of fighting to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.

The film follows Squad 1 at the Citadel front, where young soldiers, mostly students, meet, fight together, love, and are willing to sacrifice for their comrades and their homeland.

In the fierce fire, each character must face the choice of life and death, with the loss of teammates right beside them.

The film depicts the ferocity of bombs and bullets, each trench, each artillery barrage that tore through the sky of Quang Tri that year.

Not only stopping at the battlefield, "Red Rain" also recreates the tense battle of wits at the Paris negotiation table, where Vietnam asserted its mettle and righteousness. It is the interweaving of blood and faith that creates emotional depth, making the film a moving epic.

The film by director and Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen has become a tribute song, reminding today's generation of the heroic sacrifices and aspirations for peace of the Vietnamese people./.
