Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que works in Son Lang commune

Formed on the basis of merging two communes, Son Lang (old) and So Pai, Son Lang commune is home to 11 ethnic groups. After the merger, the whole commune has an area of over 45,100 hectares, of which the forested land area is over 35,000 hectares, accounting for over 77%. The whole commune has 2,732 households, of which ethnic minorities account for nearly 42.7%.

In the first phase after the merger, the commune-level political system has basically operated stably, ensuring the full implementation of functions and tasks as prescribed. In the first 7 days of operation, the Commune Public Administration Service Center has received dozens of documents and promptly resolved them. However, the operation of the commune's organizational apparatus is still difficult due to the lack of 13 staff; facilities and working equipment have not met the requirements.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que emphasized that operating a two-level government model is an inevitable requirement to bring the government closer to the people, meet the requirements of solving the work of the people and businesses, contributing to bringing the country into a new era of rapid and sustainable development.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the collective of commune officials will be united and dedicated to their work; uphold the sense of responsibility in handling work according to assigned responsibilities and powers; continue to improve the level of information technology application and digital transformation for officials to quickly resolve the work of people and businesses. The province will also soon issue a work manual for each department.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Son Lang commune to focus on preparing for the Party Congress of the commune for the 2025-2030 term on schedule. Regarding economic development, it is necessary to clearly understand the socio-economic development targets that will be assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to focus on implementation, especially the target of the total value of local products; each sector and field must be reviewed to have specific solutions and goals.

In the field of tourism , with the advantage of having Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve, famous for its majestic scenery and biodiversity, the commune needs to coordinate and connect to develop eco-tourism under the forest canopy.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the commune, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que assigned the Provincial People's Committee Office to synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and guidance on resolution.
