Vice Principal is the only female candidate for professorship in Information Technology

Among the 89 professor candidates this year, Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh is the only female member of the Information Technology industry. She was born in 1975, and is from Tuy Phuoc, Binh Dinh province (old).

In 1997, Ms. Binh graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. She then continued her studies for a master's and doctorate in Computer Science in the field of Information Technology at the same university. In 2015, she was recognized as an associate professor in Information Technology.

Ms. Binh became a lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology (later the Institute of Information and Communication Technology), Hanoi University of Science and Technology since 1998.

Since 2021, she has been a lecturer, head of the Intelligent Computing and Optimization research group, and Vice Principal at the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Her research interests include approximate optimization methods and applications; Multitask Evolution; Evolutionary computation and modern deep learning applied to combinatorial optimization problems.

To date, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh has completed 3 ministerial-level scientific research projects, published 88 scientific articles, including 49 scientific articles in prestigious international journals. She has also had 3 books published. In addition, she has participated in reviewing many leading journals and conferences.

She has received many awards in competitions at leading conferences in the field of Evolutionary Computation. According to Google Scholar , Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh has an H-index of 25 and a citation index of 2,590.

During nearly 27 years of working, regardless of her position, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh always strives to complete the assigned tasks well. She has received the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level 11 times, the title of Emulation Fighter at the Ministry of Education and Training level 2 times, and the certificate of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training 3 times.
