On September 23, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc met with Mr. Liu Ninh, Party Secretary and Chairman of the National People's Congress (People's Council) of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.

At the invitation of the Government of the People's Republic of China, Deputy Prime Minister Hu Defu will attend the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 21st China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.

Also this morning, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc passed through Huu Nghi border gate to Nanning, China.

Respecting friendly neighborly relations

At the reception, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to the friendly neighborly relationship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, and supports the traditional relationship between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities.

Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee Liu Ning expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Government for its active support for the CAEXPO and CABIS held annually in Nanning.

As close neighbors, the Secretary of the Guangxi Regional Party Committee affirmed that he always attaches importance to enhancing friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with Vietnamese localities, ministries and branches.

Mr. Liu Ning also sincerely sent his condolences to the people of Vietnamese localities that suffered damage in the recent typhoon Yagi and floods, and said that Guangxi will provide support to some Vietnamese localities in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Promoting railway transport and smart border gates

Regarding bilateral cooperation, Mr. Phuc suggested that Guangxi and Vietnamese localities actively implement the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders and the results achieved during the recent visit to Vietnam by the Guangxi Party Secretary.

Strengthen friendly exchanges between the Party Committees, local authorities and people's organizations of the two sides; continue to promote the effectiveness of the Spring Meeting program and the mechanism of the Joint Working Committee Conference between Guangxi and the provinces of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Quang Ninh of Vietnam...

The focus of cooperation is to promote connectivity between railways, roads, sea and air transport; and accelerate the pilot construction of smart border gates to facilitate trade between the two countries and within the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed capable enterprises of Guangxi to expand high-quality investment in Vietnam and increase the import of strong goods, especially agricultural and aquatic products and fruits from Vietnam.

The two sides will continue to closely coordinate in border management according to three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border, promptly coordinate to satisfactorily resolve arising incidents; strengthen cooperation in immigration management, prevent and combat cross-border crimes; and promote upgrading and opening of new pairs of border gates and border crossings agreed upon by the two sides.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Guangxi Regional Party Committee Liu Ning affirmed to continue promoting friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation for stronger, deeper and more comprehensive development; actively contributing to promoting the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
