(CLO) US Vice President JD Vance said on Saturday that he was blocked by a group of pro-Ukraine protesters while walking his 3-year-old daughter.
On social media platform X, Mr. Vance wrote that the group of people had been following and yelling at his daughter, making her anxious and scared. He decided to approach them to talk in the hope of getting a few minutes of peace for his daughter.
The conversation was cordial, but he stressed that harassing a 3-year-old child for political purposes was unacceptable behavior.

Mr Vance has faced protests since tensions between the US and Ukraine escalated last week, when the US cut military aid and stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine.
The decision came after a tense meeting in the Oval Office on February 28 between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump and Mr. Vance.
Last weekend, while on a skiing vacation in Vermont with his family, Mr. Vance was also criticized by protesters who told him to "go skiing in Russia."
Amid escalating tensions, Mr. Trump announced on Truth Social on Friday that he was considering imposing “broad-based” sanctions on Russia until a ceasefire and final peace deal is reached. “Come to the table now, before it’s too late,” he told both sides.
