Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong had a dialogue with farmers

This afternoon, December 19, in Dong Ha City, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province Ha Sy Dong and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Tran Van Ben co-chaired the dialogue conference with farmers in 2024. The conference was held in person and online to the bridge points of districts, towns and cities.

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized that the dialogue conference with farmers is an important forum for representatives of cadres, members, and farmers in the province to directly reflect their thoughts and aspirations to the provincial leaders on issues related to agriculture , farmers, and rural areas.

For the conference to be most effective, delegates participating in the dialogue are requested to promote a spirit of frankness and openness, focusing their speeches on difficulties, obstacles and proposals and recommendations on mechanisms and policies related to agriculture, farmers, rural areas, and the building of farmers' associations.

At the same time, it is requested that representatives of local departments and branches seriously listen to and absorb the opinions of farmers' representatives, directly respond or advise the chairmen of People's Committees at all levels to respond to issues within their authority. Research to continue advising on solutions for direction and management that both ensure compliance with legal regulations and are consistent with the aspirations of the people.

With a frank and open spirit, farmer members reflected and proposed opinions and recommendations to the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and branches. The conference received 19 questions in 4 groups of fields, of which 7 questions were raised directly at the conference with issues related to solutions to tighten relationships in production and product consumption linkages to increase the value of agricultural products, contributing to increasing farmers' income; the land management situation in some localities still has many shortcomings; works and projects serving agriculture have been completed but not yet put into use. In addition, issues regarding the number of vocationally trained workers who do not have jobs on the spot, vocational training programs that are not close to reality or the deterioration of many rural roads were also of concern to many delegates.

At the conference, the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches received and directly answered questions surrounding issues of concern to farmer members.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong assigned departments and branches, based on their functions and tasks, to proactively advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to effectively implement mechanisms and policies on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, meeting the needs, thoughts and aspirations of farmers.

In the coming time, it is recommended that all levels, sectors, agencies, units and localities continue to effectively implement tasks and solutions for socio-economic recovery and development.

Conduct in-depth research and review of central documents, regulations, mechanisms and policies on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to advise on effective implementation at the local level; focus on promptly resolving issues and recommendations at the dialogue session in accordance with the actual situation of the province, ensuring understanding and reasonability, and at the same time have written responses and specific solutions for each recommendation and proposal.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is assigned to be the focal point to monitor and urge the implementation of this task, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee on issues that need focused leadership and direction.
