Bustling river festival

"Ho Chi Minh City River Festival" is directed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, implemented by the Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture - Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and related units.

The special art program "Storytelling River Season 2 - Legendary Train" brings together more than 1,000 professional actors and extras, many boats are mobilized, sound, light... are invested in grandly, bringing satisfaction to the audience.

In 2023, the program "Storytelling River 1" focuses on recreating the formation of nature, people, society, and culture through the development periods of the Saigon - Gia Dinh - Ho Chi Minh City region. In "Storytelling River 2 - Legendary Ship 2024", the program tells a modern historical story that takes place right on the river through the chapters: "Launching", "Arrival", "Set sail", "Rising waves", "Reaching far".

The emotional highlights of the program are the story associated with President Ton Duc Thang about Ba Son factory; the ship Amiral Latouche Tréville that took Uncle Ho from Ben Nha Rong to find a way to save the country; the resounding battles on the river by Rung Sac special forces... The program not only recounts history but also evokes national spirit, patriotism, pride and faith in the future.

The 2nd "Ho Chi Minh City River Festival" 2024 takes place from May 31 to June 9 with a series of tourism - culture - entertainment - art - sports - cuisine - shopping activities.

In particular, in the second time of organization, for the first time, the festival included artistic fireworks display, reenactment of the Western floating market, open river swimming competition, stand-up paddleboard championship, jet ski performance and waterway tourism products with the theme "Legendary Train".
