The Sau Sau forest was recorded by Nguyen Duc Hieu, a student majoring in information technology from Quang Tri province, during the New Year holiday during his trip to explore the mountainous region of Huong Hoa district.

The forests of Sau Sau are located along the Quang Tri hydroelectric lake.
From the center of Khe Sanh town (Huong Hoa district), along National Highway 14 to Huong Phung commune, when starting to reach Quang Tri hydroelectric lake, the forests that are changing leaves will gradually appear with orange, red, yellow leaves... interspersed with the deep green forests of the Truong Son range.

The view from above offers an extraordinary beauty.
"When I passed by here, I was so impressed by the beauty of this forest. I thought I was somewhere in Europe, so I stopped to admire and capture that moment," Hieu shared.
From September to November of the lunar calendar is the time when the Sau Sau tree changes its leaves.
In recent days, not only Hieu but also many other young people have come to the Sau Sau forest. Young people use sup and boats to follow the streams flowing to the hydroelectric lake to be able to go deep into the forest, to explore the natural beauty that only appears once a year. Many people thought they were "lost" in the maple forest in the changing season in Europe, although the leaves are smaller and not "angular" like the maple trees.
The yellow, red, orange leaves... create a unique beauty for the Sau Sau tree.
The time when the Sau Sau tree changes its leaves usually takes place from September to November of the lunar calendar. In Huong Hoa District, this tree species appears a lot along National Highway 14.
