Forecast of durian price on June 29, 2024, Ri6 durian price and Thai durian price in the Southwest region will increase slightly with Thai durian. Durian price is showing a slight upward trend again. According to representatives of durian growing regions, unfavorable weather also affects the productivity and output of Vietnamese durian, however, Vietnam's total output still increases thanks to many gardens entering harvest age.

This year, due to the impact of the intense heat, durian trees suffered heat shock, causing many young fruits to fall off, and productivity to decrease sharply. Therefore, durian prices can fluctuate depending on the day.

Durian price forecast June 29: Thai durian will increase again

Previously, the price of durian today, June 29, was highest in the Southwest and Southeast regions and lowest in the Central Highlands. The price at the garden will be 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg lower than the updated price at the warehouse, depending on the form of purchase by the trader, buying in bulk or choosing the price.

Accordingly, the price of durian at Ri6 durian garden is at 55,000 - 58,000 VND/kg; the price of Thai durian is at 86,000 - 88,000 VND/kg; the price of Musangking durian is at 98,000 - 100,000 VND/kg.

In the Southwestern region, the price of durian today increased slightly compared to yesterday for Thai durian. The beautiful Ri6 durian variety reached 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg and the Ri6 durian variety reached 48,000 - 50,000 VND/kg; the beautiful Thai durian was at 87,000 - 90,000 VND/kg; the Thai durian variety was at 67,000 - 70,000 VND/kg, continuing to increase slightly compared to the previous session.

For durian in the Southeast region, the price increased slightly compared to yesterday. Specifically, the purchase price at the warehouse, beautiful Ri6 is 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg and Ri6 durian is purchased by traders at 48,000 - 50,000 VND/kg; beautiful Thai durian is at 87,000 - 90,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, Thai durian is at 67,000 - 70,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, in the Central Highlands, the price of beautiful Ri6 durian is at 58,000 - 60,000 VND/kg and Ri6 durian in bucket is at the price that traders buy at 45,000 - 48,000 VND/kg; beautiful Thai durian is at 85,000 - 87,000 VND/kg; Thai durian in bucket is at 57,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.

Depending on the length of the shipping route or shipping area, the price of durian will vary more or less.

Durian is currently a key agricultural export product, contributing significantly to the export turnover of Lao Cai province. At Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. 2, on average, there are about 100 trucks carrying fresh fruit for export every day, of which durian accounts for more than 90 trucks, the rest are other fruits such as dragon fruit, banana, jackfruit, grapefruit...

Currently, the price of Monthong durian fluctuates around 90,000 VND/kg, while Ri6 durian is around 60,000 VND/kg. Each truck carrying exported durian can reach a value of 1.1 - 1.5 billion VND. Previously, at the beginning of the year when durian prices reached 200,000 VND/kg due to the off-season, the value of each exported truck reached 3.5 billion VND.

In Lao Cai, dragon fruit used to be the main export item in terms of both quantity and value. However, nowadays, only a few trucks of dragon fruit are exported each day. Shippers now prioritize Lao Cai as the main border gate for exporting durian.
