Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of the Department of Communications and Brand Development of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the school's students will start their Tet holiday from February 1 to February 18 and then officially return to school for the second semester. However, in the first week of the semester, students will have a week of online learning.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Thuy, in order to have the best preparation and catch up with their study goals as quickly as possible after the long holiday, students need to clearly understand the study schedule and post-Tet activities at school to arrange their timetable.
After Tet, students will be very busy with the second semester schedule, especially final year students who have to do internships and do their graduation thesis.
"Those who live far away need to return to school on time early to avoid delays due to the peak season when there is no means of transportation. Final year students also need to know that internships and theses will start in April, so serious preparation after Tet will bring about optimal results," Associate Professor, Dr. Thuy advised.
Even during the Tet holiday, Mr. Thuy believes that students spending a little time each day to review will also help them get back into the swing of things after Tet easier. "This long holiday is also an opportunity for students to look back on what they have experienced in the past year, know what they need to improve and develop, plan for the new year and take steps to realize their goals," Associate Professor, Dr. Thuy advised.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, in order to create the most favorable conditions for students to return to school and reduce the difficulty of transportation right after Tet, the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year will also start online via Google Meet for 2 weeks (February 19 to March 3). From March 4, students will study directly at school according to their personal schedules.
Master Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, Director of the Communication Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, shared: "The Lunar New Year holiday is a time for students to rest and relax with family and friends. However, you should not 'let yourself go all out' to avoid disappointment and difficulty in getting back to normal life when returning to the classroom."
"Students should also spend the last days of the Tet holiday planning a specific study plan again. Accordingly, they can list the subjects, tasks, activities and goals to do, thereby helping them clearly visualize and manage their plans for the new year well," Master Dung noted.
Mr. Tao Huu Dat, Head of Student Affairs Department of Saigon University, also said that students should not neglect their studies to ensure their study pace when returning to school.
"Especially final year students who have to do internships after Tet and then do their graduation thesis will be under more pressure. They need to ensure progress, so during Tet they still have to remember to 'play but not forget their duties'," Mr. Dat advised.
Master Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, also noted that final year students after Tet must spend more time studying and contacting businesses to prepare for their internships. For second and third year students, they need to plan their studies, research and possibly work part-time to gain experience.
"If students think that during Tet holiday they can just have fun and enjoy themselves without thinking or planning, it will be easy for them to have trouble getting back into the rhythm after Tet and even become lazy, which will greatly affect their study progress," said Master Son.
Eat and drink in moderation to stay healthy for studying after Tet.
According to Master Xuan Dung, students also need to pay attention to their diet, because Tet is an occasion to eat and drink freely, but they should not "load" too many types of food, especially limit the use of beer and alcohol to ensure safety, not affect health and ensure physical strength and energy for studying after the holiday.
In addition, Master Dung advises students to adjust their daily routines, go to bed early, get enough sleep and do light exercise. This way, they can rebalance their biological clocks, have enough enthusiasm to quickly adapt and study well after the Tet holiday.
