This security vulnerability was discovered by Google's security research team, affecting 64 different types of chips developed by Qualcomm itself, including popular mobile chips being used on smartphones from mid-range to high-end, such as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 888+ or Snapdragon 680...

Notably, Qualcomm's most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which is widely used on many of the most high-end smartphones on the market, is also on the list of chip models affected by security flaws and is susceptible to being exploited and attacked by hackers.

In addition, this security flaw also exists on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chip for personal computers and many other 5G chips from Qualcomm. This means that not only smartphones but also many types of devices using Qualcomm 5G chips are at risk of being attacked by hackers.

The vulnerability was named CVE-2024-43047 by Google security researchers. Currently, detailed information about this security error has not been disclosed, but security experts said that hackers can exploit the error to remotely attack smartphones to install malicious software, steal data or track users...

A series of smartphones using Snapdragon chips and running Android platforms by Samsung, OnePlus, Motorola, Xiaomi... are all on the affected list.

However, security researchers reassure users that they have yet to find any signs that hackers have exploited the security vulnerability on Qualcomm's chips to attack users.

Qualcomm said it is also actively releasing a patch. Once the patch is completed, Qualcomm will send it to smartphone manufacturers to quickly release it to users through a software update.

If you are using a smartphone using Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip, it means that you may be on the list of people at risk of being attacked by hackers. In this case, you need to do the following to ensure the safety of your device: Update the software on your smartphone as soon as a new upgrade is released, absolutely do not click on strange links, do not install applications from untrusted sources,...
