According to GizmoChina , recent rumors that Sony is preparing to withdraw from the Chinese smartphone market have been strongly denied by the company itself. Accordingly, the Japanese company issued a statement clarifying its commitment to continue operating in this region.

"Many of Sony's businesses in China, including the mobile phone business, are operating stably. China is one of Sony's most important overseas markets and we have full expectations for future development in China," Sony China said in a statement.

The announcement provides some much-needed clarity, as speculation about Sony's future in China has been rife for some time. Although Sony's smartphone market share in China has declined in recent years, the company appears determined to maintain its presence in the fiercely competitive market.

Sony entered the Chinese smartphone market more than a decade ago when it acquired a stake in Ericsson. In recent years, the company has struggled to keep up with the rapid growth and intense competition in the Chinese market. However, the company is still selling phones such as the Xperia PRO-I, Xperia 5 III, Xperia 1 V, Xperia 5V and Xperia 1 IV through its Chinese website.

According to current information, the company is developing several new phone models to launch in 2024. Among them are the Sony Xperia 1 VI and 5 VI. Currently, there is not much information about these products, but a few leaks have revealed their details. For example, a report from January revealed that the Xperia 1 VI will use a 48 MP lens for all three cameras.
