Mr. Ho Minh Hoang - Chief of Office of the People's Committee of District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, has just officially informed about the warning about strangers giving money and approaching students at the gate of To Ngoc Van Secondary School on November 15.

According to initial information released from the warning of Ha Huy Giap Primary School, a 5th grade student of this school was approached by a strange woman and given money.

The student then went into the classroom and gave the money to the homeroom teacher. The teacher used alcohol to disinfect the bag and threw it in the trash, but after a while, the teacher started to feel dizzy, had a headache, and felt sleepy.

Since then, information streams have worried that the incident was a staged kidnapping of students, causing panic among the people and parents.

Immediately after receiving the above information, the People's Committee of District 12 directed the District Police to coordinate with other units to extract camera footage and verify the incident. The authorities identified the woman who gave money to the student in the above incident as Ms. VTKL - a parent of a student at Ha Huy Giap Primary School.

Through verification, the incident unfolded as follows: At around 6:15 a.m. on November 15, Ms. L. took her child to school (her child was in grade 5 at Ha Huy Giap Primary School). When arriving at the school gate, Ms. L. saw NLTT, a grade 5 student (in a different class than her child), standing in front of the school gate borrowing money from a friend, but the friend did not have any money. At this time, she took 20,000 VND out of her pocket and gave it to NLTT, then she went home.

At that time, another parent saw the incident so he reported it to the school security guard and the security guard informed NLTT's homeroom teacher. The homeroom teacher asked NLTT where the money the strange woman had given him was, and NLTT left a 20,000 VND bill on the teacher's desk.

The homeroom teacher held the bill in his hand to check and found nothing, so he sprayed the 20,000 VND bill with disinfectant alcohol. At this time, the homeroom teacher felt a little dizzy (unclear cause).

The homeroom teacher asked NLTT if he had been affected by anything since he received the money from the strange woman. The student replied that he was in good health and had not been affected by anything, so he threw the money in the trash. About 20 minutes later, the homeroom teacher's health was normal and he continued teaching until now.

Through the above verification results, the People's Committee of District 12 affirmed that there was no incident of strangers staging a scene to approach and give money with the intention of kidnapping students in front of the gate of Ha Huy Giap Primary School on the morning of November 15.

The People's Committee of District 12 continues to review and handle according to regulations; at the same time, direct the education sector to promote propaganda work, enhance coordination between families and schools to ensure student safety.
