Irresistible attraction from My Tam
Unlike many previous events, this time My Tam appeared in a white ao dai, her hair neatly tied up, and light makeup. When the National Anthem was played, she placed her hand on her chest, keeping her eyes full of pride, a simple, solemn image that was still enough to create a strong impact across social networks.

This image went viral, receiving hundreds of thousands of likes and shares. The simplicity in the way the female singer chose her outfit and performance style was highly appreciated by the audience. My Tam appeared without elaborate hairdo, nail polish or branded accessories. It was this restraint that made the performance more intimate and suitable for the atmosphere of the important event.
“The most impressive thing is My Tam’s white ao dai, very pure among the red forest. She doesn’t need to be fussy to stand out,” commented one audience member.
Immediately after the ceremony, videos and images of My Tam’s performance attracted special attention. The video recording the female singer singing the National Anthem at Ba Dinh Square received nearly 700,000 likes, the photo received more than half a million likes. The keyword “My Tam” was among the most searched keywords in Vietnam on Google Trends within 48 hours after the event…
Due to the large number of visitors, the female singer's fanpage had a short interruption in displaying her profile picture before returning to normal operation. This is considered a testament to her lasting influence in the popular music scene.
Not a singer who focuses on showing off or using many sophisticated techniques, My Tam is said to choose to sing sincerely, exploiting the natural beauty of her voice, letting emotions lead instead of showing off. That simplicity helps her touch the hearts of millions of viewers.
Back in 1998, My Tam first gained attention when she won first prize in the Golden Voice contest organized by Muc Tim newspaper with the song Remembering Autumn in Hanoi . At that time, the 17-year-old girl appeared with her hair down to her shoulders, wearing a white ao dai and holding a simple guitar. Many years later, that image seemed to be recreated in the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2nd at Ba Dinh Square.
"This moment is eternal"
After the show, My Tam expressed her feelings. She said she could not express her honor, pride, great happiness and emotion at singing at Ba Dinh Square during the sacred moment of the whole nation.

“Let us sing along with millions of people, ‘Our Vietnamese homeland is strong and lasting!’. We are grateful to Uncle Ho, our ancestors, our heroic Vietnamese mothers and the soldiers who have protected our country so that we can live in peace, independence and freedom,” the singer wrote.
My Tam also sent her thanks to Hanoi and the previous generations for giving her the opportunity to sing on this important anniversary. “We are willing to remember the value of freedom and independence that we have today. Tam feels that she needs to live a worthy life, live responsibly and contribute more to her beloved homeland, Vietnam,” she shared.
The singer calls this moment eternal. She does not consider this a memory to be kept for a long time to remember, but rather a daily baggage to practice gratitude. “Being grateful to the country. For Tam, the ideal is not an 'occasion', it is a daily baggage,” My Tam added.
It is not difficult to understand why My Tam is known as the "idol of idols". Standing together in the parade through the Square, many artists such as Hoa Minzy, Phuong My Chi, Duc Phuc, Erik... all asked to take souvenir photos, expressing their feelings for their senior.
After nearly 24 years of working, the "brown-haired nightingale" still maintains her style, saying no to tricks or noise in her private life. Her appearance at Ba Dinh Square helps the singer continue to strengthen her image as a talented artist.
The moment on the morning of September 2nd was therefore not only a performance that caused a “social media fever”, but also affirmed My Tam’s special position in Vietnamese music life. A rare popular star capable of harmonizing artistry, national spirit and the lasting love of the audience.
