Although he does not consider writing as a professional activity, Phan Dinh Tung still has the habit of thinking about ideas, layouts... before starting to write.
For example, the song Happy Birthday , that year he often heard people sing Happy Birthday at birthday parties so he thought of creating a birthday song specifically for Vietnamese people.
The singer set requirements such as it must be easy to remember, easy to sing, thanks to the pre-thought, the composition process was very quick, only about 30 minutes. From a song that was not expected much, the success beyond imagination made him happy and proud.

When asked about income from music copyrights, Phan Dinh Tung said money is always a sensitive issue, only revealing the "so-called" number and there is no such thing as "one song can make a lifetime" as people think.
What he is worried about is the loss of income from his work for many reasons. The singer, for example, said that if the number of views for the MV "Happy Birthday Song" on YouTube is about 293 million, the number of listens and uses in real life must be many times higher.
"Almost no one opens YouTube to play music in shows or parties. They usually download it to avoid ads. So I lose all of this money. If that song was monitored and controlled more closely, I could live well without doing anything," said the 7X singer.
Regarding the rumor that the copyright revenue for the song Happy Birthday Song is up to 8 billion VND, he affirmed that it is impossible, and that this number is even too far from reality.
Phan Dinh Tung understands that the practice of protecting music copyright still has many shortcomings, so he accepts and consoles himself that his brainchild has been loved by millions of audiences.
Even if it doesn't bring in a huge income, public acceptance is still a very valuable reward for an amateur composer like him.
Up to now, Phan Dinh Tung still maintains his compositions according to the criteria of improvisation and emotion. He believes that when a song is written with genuine emotions, it will reach the listener and have a long-lasting vitality.
