Tan Son Nhat needs to learn and update from Singapore and Qatar airports

Unreasonable layout

Ms. Hong An, resident of Binh Thoi ward, commented that the current international terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport is unprofessionally arranged and quite disorganized.

"I find it very difficult to identify counters or areas for basic necessary services, such as check-in or security areas," Ms. An shared.

Having had a connecting flight at Doha Airport (Qatar), Ms. An said that this airport has many electronic screens along the way for passengers to conveniently look up information. The functions of these screens are also very simple, serving to quickly look up information.

"I think Tan Son Nhat airport should redesign its layout, along with investing more in equipment to create more convenient and easier travel conditions," this passenger suggested.

Experiencing the T3 terminal, Ms. QN, residing in An Hoi Dong ward, said that although this new terminal is spacious and well-equipped, the long distance and somewhat unreasonable layout make it difficult for the elderly or many families with small children.

Regarding the issue of signage and the layout of functional areas of T3 station, Ms. LH (27 years old), residing in Thanh My Loi ward, said she almost went into the wrong men's restroom because the signage was not clear and the entrances to the areas were not clearly marked.

"This makes it difficult for even Vietnamese people to determine their destination at the airport. I think we need to do it like Gaoqi Xiamen Airport (Fujian, China). Foreign visitors coming here do not need to know Chinese to move around easily," said Ms. H.

Lack of resting space

As someone who has experience at airports in several countries, Ms. Ngoc Ngan (30 years old) compared the international terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport to a lack of space for passengers to rest when they need to wait for connecting flights, delayed flights or other situations where they have to stay at the airport for a long time.

Along with resting, there are needs for eating and shopping. Ms. Ngan thinks that Tan Son Nhat airport currently has very few options, or if there are options, the prices are very high compared to the general level.

"Many other airports will be arranged like a shopping mall, with a variety of shops," Ms. Ngan suggested.

Meanwhile, Ms. Kim Phung (54 years old) also feels uncomfortable because the international terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport lacks resting places.

"I once arrived at Changi Airport (Singapore) early and received another flight delay notice from the airline. Even though I had to stay here for a few more hours, I felt very comfortable having more time to rest, because here they arranged many resting areas for passengers with very polite reclining seats," Ms. Phung shared.
