Accordingly, in the field of Culture and Family, the Ministry has developed 2 circulars; appraised and commented on 63 projects, technical economic reports, designed construction drawings for restoration and embellishment of relics; issued a Decision to recognize national treasures for 29 artifacts and groups of artifacts; organized the 10th ceremony to award the titles of "People's Artist" and "Meritorious Artist" along with many activities for major celebrations of the country.
In the field of sports , in the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnamese Sports have competed excellently, winning 57 gold medals, 55 silver medals, and 71 bronze medals. Up to now, Vietnamese Sports have had 12 official places to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Vietnamese Paralympic Sports have had 2 athletes officially qualified to participate in the Paris Paralympics in Swimming (Le Tien Dat, Do Thanh Hai) and 4 expected places are waiting for the official announcement of the Paralympic Organizing Committee.
In the field of tourism, the Ministry has coordinated with the People's Committee of Dien Bien province to successfully organize activities in the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024; implemented communication plans, promoted the National Tourism Year 2024; participated in the ASEAN Tourism Forum and Travex Fair 2024 in Laos. In addition, the Ministry has developed a project to establish a Vietnam Tourism Promotion Office in Laos; organized a tourism promotion conference in 2024; coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City to develop a plan to organize the ITE HCMC Fair 2024; prepared to organize the UN Tourism International Conference on Rural Tourism.
One of the outstanding activities is that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a domestic tourism stimulus program in 2024 with the theme "Vietnamese people travel to Vietnam - Vietnam I love" to welcome the April 30, May 1 holidays and the 2024 summer tourist season. The total number of international visitors in the first 5 months of 2024 is estimated at 7.58 million, an increase of 65% over the same period in 2023; domestic tourists are estimated at 52.5 million. Total revenue from tourism in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at 352.2 trillion VND.
According to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from now until the end of the year, the Ministry will continue to effectively organize and implement 6 groups of tasks and 4 groups of solutions to build, preserve and promote the unique values of advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity; absorb and complete the draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended) and the National Target Program on Culture for the period 2025-2035 after the National Assembly gave comments at the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
In addition, the Ministry will organize the Ethnic Culture Festival in provinces and cities; the 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; Folklore and cultural performance contest of ethnic groups; the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival...
Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy noted that the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector needs to focus on preparing the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics; continue to prepare forces to participate in the Paralympic qualifying round in France, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG6) in Thailand and international sports tournaments in 2024; organize the Vietnam Tourism Awards in 2024 and solutions to develop tourism, attract domestic and international tourists.
