Requires a large workforce

Thai Nguyen province’s labor market is bustling. The province currently has more than 13,000 enterprises and more than 1,200 cooperatives, all of which need a large workforce to maintain production and business. Despite continuous recruitment, many enterprises, especially in industrial parks and clusters, still face difficulties in labor resources, especially unskilled labor.

According to a recent survey by the Provincial Employment Service Center at 600 enterprises, most of them have a need to recruit and supplement labor for production and business, mainly in the fields of electricity, electronics, mechanical engineering and industrial sewing. The total labor demand of enterprises is nearly 10,000 people in the second quarter and more than 20,000 people in the last months of the year.

Specifically, at 200 enterprises in Phan Dinh Phung, Gia Sang, and Tich Luong wards, the immediate recruitment demand is 651 workers and more than 850 workers in the third and fourth quarters. At 140 enterprises in Song Cong, Bach Quang, and Ba Xuyen wards, the immediate recruitment demand is nearly 1,900 workers and 1,969 workers in the last months of the year.

Surveying 140 enterprises in Pho Yen, Van Xuan, and Trung Thanh wards, the authorities recorded the need to recruit 2,645 workers immediately and more than 2,800 workers from now until the end of the year. Particularly, 20 enterprises in Diem Thuy and Kha Son communes need to recruit 2,316 workers immediately and 2,663 workers from now until the end of the year.

The industries have different needs for recruiting human resources. The highest is the electronics and industrial electricity industry group, which needs 3,158 workers (34.33%); mechanical engineering needs 1,625 workers (17.67%). Next is the garment and footwear industry group, which needs 1,850 workers (20.12%); construction and transportation needs 758 workers (8.24%). The industries with lower needs for recruiting human resources are: Business and trade needs 662 workers (7.19%); service needs 633 workers (6.88%), the rest are in other fields of activity.

The human resources that businesses are interested in recruiting are workers in the production of electronic components and industrial sewing; security service staff; trained workers; electrical and electronic technicians, highly qualified engineers, financial specialists, and production managers.

The salary that enterprises pay to employees is based on the actual capacity and working ability of each person. Specifically: 78.1% of unskilled workers or workers with elementary or intermediate qualifications are paid with salaries ranging from 5-10 million VND/person/month. 21.6% of workers are paid with salaries ranging from 10-20 million VND/person/month.

These are skilled workers, technicians, middle-level managers or office staff. The highest group is the group of workers in senior management positions, technical experts, production directors, technology experts, paid with salaries from 20-50 million VND/person/month, accounting for 0.3%, mainly in foreign-invested companies or large enterprises.

Continuous recruitment to fill vacant positions

In the last months of the year, the need to replace human resources, mainly unskilled workers, along with the situation of voluntary resignation and job transfer, forces businesses to continuously recruit to fill the vacant positions. It is forecasted that the industries that tend to need to recruit a large number of workers include: construction, textiles, electronics, transportation - warehousing and iron and steel.

Enterprises located in the province need to immediately recruit a large number of workers such as: Grand Leisure Outdoor Products Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Yen Binh Industrial Park) needs 810 workers to produce and assemble outdoor furniture; TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company needs 2,000 technical staff, machine team leaders, KCS, industrial sewing workers; Chungjye Bac Kan Shoe Manufacturing Co., Ltd., in Bac Kan ward, needs 300 machine workers, leather and shoe production.

In particular, there are 3 enterprises located in Bac Ninh province that have registered to immediately recruit workers through Thai Nguyen Provincial Employment Service Center with a large number (10,000 workers per enterprise), including: Geortek Vina Co., Ltd. is recruiting workers to produce electronic components; Hong Hai Science and Technology Group - Fukang Technology Co., Ltd. is recruiting engineers, technicians, and employees to produce electronic components; LUXSHARE-ICT Co., Ltd. is recruiting workers to assemble electronic components.

Brother Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd., Phuc Dien Industrial Park (Hai Phong City), needs to recruit 1,000 technicians for equipment infrastructure production and molding room.

To attract workers, many businesses commit to fully implementing health insurance, social insurance, and unemployment insurance policies for workers according to regulations, and at the same time apply some preferential policies of the unit to attract and retain human resources.
