Accordingly, more than 150 trainees from 30 provinces, cities and sectors across the country participated in the training course.
Here, students will be provided with information and professional practice guidance by experts. The training program consists of 3 parts: the theoretical framework focuses on general topics on preserving digital information resources; the topic of digital preservation actions from creation, appraisal, storage, planning, access to technical solutions...
Topics provide guidance on digital preservation processes, policies and practices; instructions on using some software to support digital preservation; instructions on data storage to preserve digital information resources long-term and securely. Along with that is the introduction and application of AI technology in the library field...
The training course is an opportunity for library staff nationwide to access knowledge and advanced solutions, and at the same time share practical experiences. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of preservation and promoting the value of digital information resources, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the industry in the integration period.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung, Director of the National Library of Vietnam, said: In recent years, the library industry has achieved remarkable achievements in building digital databases and developing modern library services.
However, the digital transformation journey also poses a big challenge: how to preserve the valuable digital information resources that we have created and are creating in the long term; ensuring that these valuable resources can exist, be accessed and used for future generations.
Data preservation is not just about backing up data, but is a continuous process that includes managing and migrating data across different formats and technology environments to combat software and hardware obsolescence. Therefore, the training course is not only a professional event but also a forum for learning, exchanging and finding positive solutions for the future.
