Canh Nang Town celebrates its 30th anniversary

On the morning of August 23, at the Ba Thuoc District Conference Center, Canh Nang town solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary (August 23, 1994 - August 23, 2024) and received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister .

On August 23, 1994, the Government issued Decree No. 92/ND-CP on the establishment of Canh Nang town (partially separated from Lam Xa commune). In September 1994, the Standing Committee of Ba Thuoc District Party Committee decided to establish Canh Nang town Party Cell with 27 party members. On January 12, 1995, the Standing Committee of Ba Thuoc District Party Committee issued Decision No. 01-QD/HU on the establishment of Canh Nang town Party Cell, with 5 party cells and a total of 30 party members. On January 16, 1995, the town Party Cell successfully held its first congress for the 1995-2000 term and elected the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the town Party Cell.

In December 2019, implementing Resolution No. 786 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Thanh Hoa province, Lam Xa and Tan Lap communes were merged into Canh Nang town. After the merger, the town expanded from a unit with an area of ​​0.83 km ² to 25.22 km ² ; divided into 22 neighborhoods, with a total of 2,557 households and 10,681 people.

The changes in the 30-year development of the town have been made possible by the attention, care and effective support of the district leaders, departments, branches, and unions; the efforts, intelligence and contributions of generations of cadres, party members and people of Canh Nang town. The economic structure has been shifted from focusing on agricultural and forestry development to mainly trade and services; creating favorable conditions for businesses to implement projects in the area, creating jobs for workers, contributing to improving the lives of workers. Since then, the Resolution of the Town Party Congress over the past 7 terms (from 1995 to present) has had the same orientation of economic development towards trade and services, small-scale industry and urban agriculture.

In the economic sector, the town's trade and service structure currently accounts for 38.9%; industry and handicrafts 7.5%; agriculture and forestry 53.6%. Focus on directing people to convert intensive cultivation areas of high-yield, high-quality, and effective crops such as purple sugarcane, raw sugarcane, cassava, corn, and greenhouse models for growing vegetables and fruits according to VietGAP standards.

Agricultural labor has shifted strongly to non-agricultural labor, up to now the proportion of non-agricultural labor accounts for 66.7% of the local labor structure; the whole town has 86 enterprises, 695 business households. Local infrastructure has been gradually invested, focusing on electricity, roads, schools, stations, markets... Up to now, 100% of households use national grid electricity, 100% of households use clean water. The urban appearance is gradually adding new breakthrough colors.

The town has received investment from the State to build the central bridge of Canh Nang town, the road connecting Canh Nang town to provincial road 523D, the lighting system of National Highway 217 through the town; planning at a scale of 1:500 the urban area of ​​Dam quarter, urban area of ​​town 1; preparing to start construction of the embankment of Ma river, the pavement of National Highway 217..., residential roads are concreted, road 2 of town is invested in upgrading, the urban road in the town center is built, expanded and extended; at the same time, upgrading, investing in ditches along both sides of the road and paving asphalt to create favorable conditions for people to travel and trade. Therefore, people's lives have changed a lot, the average income per capita has been raised to 60 million VND/year; the poverty rate is 5.25%; near-poor 7.6%.

30 years of construction and growth, the achievements and results of Canh Nang town are always associated with the leadership of the Party, directly by the town Party Committee and its affiliated Party cells. From the first Party cell when it was first established with 27 Party members, up to now there have been nearly 700 comrades with 34 affiliated Party cells and gone through 7 congresses.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 30-year tradition of the town's establishment, and at the same time well implemented the action slogan "The Party Committee, government and people of Canh Nang town unite, strive and are determined to build their homeland to be more and more prosperous and civilized".

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Pham Dinh Minh, Secretary of the Ba Thuoc District Party Committee, congratulated and praised the achievements that Canh Nang town has achieved over the past 30 years. In order to build and develop Canh Nang town to become more and more beautiful, civilized and developed, he requested the Party Committee, government and people of the town to continue to unite and strive harder in carrying out the local political tasks, and at the same time absorb and study a number of contents to implement in the coming time, namely: promoting the spirit of solidarity, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization, building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system. Building a contingent of cadres, especially management cadres with sufficient qualities, prestige and equal to the tasks. Continuing to concretize and effectively implement the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term. Focus on effectively exploiting existing potentials and strengths, combining the mobilization and effective use of resources to invest in building socio-economic infrastructure; focus on developing production models with high quality and economic value; actively attract direct investment, solve people's employment needs, and at the same time pay attention to economic development along with solving social issues and protecting the environment.
