Weather on June 16: Northern region is hot and sunny, some places have thunderstorms

The Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that on the day and night of June 16, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 20-50mm, locally over 80mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and inundation in low-lying areas.

Regarding the hot weather on June 16-17, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen , there will be hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places will be over 38 degrees Celsius, the lowest relative humidity will be at 55-60%.

On June 16, the North had localized heat waves with the highest temperature in some places above 35 degrees Celsius.

Heat warning in the Central region is likely to last in the following days.
