Message of President Luong Cuong to leading APEC enterprises

President Luong Cuong emphasized that Vietnam supports the multilateral trade system and that Vietnam's development will bring opportunities for businesses with incentives that few other places have.

On the morning of November 14 (Peru time, late the same day Vietnam time), President Luong Cuong delivered an important speech at the APEC 2024 Business Summit.

Vietnam supports the multilateral trading system.

APEC stands for Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation. The 2024 APEC Summit Week will feature a variety of activities, including the APEC CEO Summit.

This is an annual event and the largest in scale of the business community in the region.

With the theme "People. Business. Prosperity", this conference includes more than 20 discussion sessions focusing on issues and trends that have a major impact on regional and global development such as climate change, artificial intelligence revolution and innovation...

Speaking at the event, President Luong Cuong shared his view that the world and Asia-Pacific are undergoing enormous, epochal changes, with multi-dimensional impacts on every country and every business.

Highlighting the role of the business community, the President said that optimism, daring to think and act, and the ability to discover and take advantage of opportunities even in difficult times are the keys to success.

He proposed further strengthening the role and contributions of the business community, especially in green transformation, digital transformation, technology development, shaping world economic laws and regulations, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges, cooperation, and friendship between countries.

Sharing about Vietnam, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the country is entering a new era, with a new mindset, with a strong desire to develop a prosperous and happy country, and with a firm belief in a bright future.

Vietnam's assets are a fast-growing, dynamic economy ranked 35th in the world. Vietnam has a strong, stable, people-centered political system, and is a patriotic, confident, self-reliant, and self-reliant nation. Vietnam has a population of over 100 million people and many international friends and partners.

President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam supports the multilateral trade system and the central role of the World Trade Organization, and believes in the value of free trade, connectivity and international integration.

Vietnam's development benefits businesses

The President affirmed that Vietnam's strong development will open up many new opportunities for both domestic and international enterprises in fields ranging from trade, industry, agriculture, tourism to infrastructure, logistics and high-tech industries.

The Vietnamese market has brought, is bringing and will bring many benefits and advantages that few other places have for international businesses and investors.

He also highlighted the important advantages that the Vietnamese economy has, which are its favorable geographical location in the Southeast Asian region, a dynamic, highly open economy and a network of 17 free trade agreements.

Vietnam also has a large, potential market and is a favorable destination for the process of shifting supply chains in the region. Vietnam's population size ranks 15th in the world, its infrastructure is synchronous, and its business environment is among the most favorable in Asia.

Vietnam is also creating a new economy, transforming from brown to green, from traditional to digital economy, starting up and innovating while developing strategic infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, energy infrastructure, and digital infrastructure.

At the end of his speech, President Luong Cuong affirmed that in the face of great changes in the world and risks of protectionism, fragmentation and separation, APEC once again needs to shoulder the responsibility of bridging, connecting and promoting cooperation among members to jointly build a transparent and equal international economic governance system, ensuring balanced benefits for all parties.

Vietnam also welcomes US companies to invest in the fields of artificial intelligence; big data; biotechnology; establishing research and development centers; and financial technology.
