There are imported flowers but there are also many foreign varieties grown in some provinces and cities so the selling price is lower.

The owner of a flower shop on Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Tu Minh Ward (Hai Duong City) sells many types of imported flowers such as roses, snow mai flowers... and said that the prices of these flowers are not high, only from 120,000 - 300,000 VND/bunch depending on the type, and are chosen by many people.

During the recent Tet holiday, imported tulips were loved by many people because of their diverse colors, blooming time of 7-10 days, easy to arrange, easy to care for and selling price of only 200,000 - 250,000 VND/10 flowers.

“Depending on the season, the shop will import whatever flower varieties the garden has. I also prioritize importing foreign and exotic flowers to sell to flower lovers. Many gardeners have grown imported flower varieties, so the price of the products is much lower than having to import flowers from abroad, so flower lovers can access them,” said Ms. Vu Thi Lan, the owner of the above shop.

Visiting many flower shops in Hai Duong city during the recent Tet holiday, Hai Duong newspaper reporters found that there were many new types of flowers, imported flowers that were popular with many people. The most popular was still snow mai, each bunch had 8-10 branches from 1.2 - 1.5 m long, when soaked in enough water, the branches bloomed with tiny, pure white flowers. Snow mai flowers this year have a reasonable price from 60,000 - 100,000 VND/bunch depending on the type. This type of flower is very durable, from 15 - 20 days. To make the flowers bloom beautifully at the right time, the player must keep them in a pot and spray mist on the tips of the branches every day to make the flowers bloom.

“This year, many people buy snow mai flowers to play with. In previous years, snow mai flowers were not imported in large quantities, so the price was quite high, about 120,000 - 150,000 VND/bunch. This year, there are many imported flowers, so the price is cheaper, giving players more choices,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Men, a flower seller at Dong Ngo Quyen market (Hai Duong city).

Previously, imported roses were priced at 30,000 - 50,000 VND/flower. No matter how much money was spent, buyers only dared to arrange 5 - 7 flowers and arrange them in between many other flowers. Currently, the price is not too high, so imported flowers are no longer as picky about buyers as before. Imported flower players are also more diverse.

During the recent Tet holiday, plume and bevery roses... were only priced from 120,000 - 150,000 VND/50 flowers, tulips from 200,000 - 250,000 VND/10 flowers depending on color and number of petals...

Depending on my preferences and the season, I will choose to buy the appropriate flowers to arrange. Having a few vases of flowers to make the house more beautiful is not as expensive as before, suitable for many families,” Ms. Luu shared.

Not only buying flowers, many people also buy imported flower varieties to grow themselves to celebrate Tet. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao in Pham Ngoc Khanh street, Hai Tan ward (Hai Duong city) was introduced by a friend how to grow and care for tulip bulbs to celebrate Tet. Before Tet, Ms. Thao asked her friend to buy 10 red tulip bulbs. When buying the bulbs, Ms. Thao planted them in small pots, watered them 2-3 times a week, placed the pots in a place with enough light and ventilation, after 25-30 days the plants will bloom.

“To have flowers to play with in time for Tet, I had to buy tulip bulbs to plant in December. Right on Tet, the whole pot of flowers bloomed and looked very nice, feeling like the new year will be full of luck. Although they are imported flowers, planting and caring for them is not complicated, so it is suitable for busy people like me,” Thao happily said.

Although the varieties are imported, with the progress in planting and care methods of gardeners and the change in the way consumers play with flowers, the imported flower market is increasingly vibrant, suitable for consumers' budgets.
