The Decision takes effect from July 17, 2025.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang was born in 1973, in Vinh Phuc province (now Phu Tho province).

Mr. Tran Duc Thang was Deputy Director and then Director of the Department of Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance. From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Thang worked at the Central Inspection Committee, holding the positions of Member of the Central Inspection Committee and then Deputy Chairman of the Committee. In October 2022, he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. After that, he was assigned, appointed and held the position of Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate from July 1, 2025.

* Previously, on July 17, 2025, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, after considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee on disciplining violating party members, the Politburo found that: Mr. Do Duc Duy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Government Party Committee, Party Secretary, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, during his tenure as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province, violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks; violated the principle of democratic centralism, working regulations; violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing serious consequences, bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and the agency, working unit.

Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and cause of the violation; according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to impose a disciplinary warning on Mr. Do Duc Duy.

The President issued Decision No. 1355/QD-CTN dated July 17, 2025 temporarily suspending Mr. Do Duc Duy from the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2021-2026 term from July 17, 2025 until the 15th National Assembly dismisses Mr. Do Duc Duy from the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2021-2026 term according to regulations.
