We just give support, not hoping that the scholarship will do anything great, just hoping to give the children more encouragement about humanity and kindness.

This is the 20th year of the club's establishment. So everything seems more urgent, although to tell the truth, as Mr. Pham Phu Tam - the club's director - said, there are many difficulties, but the members still brought to the editorial office a gift of 1.5 billion VND, equivalent to 100 scholarships ready to support poor students in Quang Nam.

In a flash, it has been the 20th season of supporting new students in Da Nang and Quang Nam. The amount of more than 23 billion VND has found the right address, at the right time. 2,194 scholarships have been awarded. That means the same number of young people at the age of 18 on the threshold of entering adulthood are more confident to move forward without having to stop their studies because of poverty.

Figuratively, Mr. Tam said the club was like a relay station on the running track for poor new student athletes, "if we didn't give them a bottle of water right away, they might have collapsed." Vice President of the club Le Hoang - former editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper - clearly remembered the enthusiastic atmosphere and willingness to support them when he proposed establishing this club during a dinner in 2005.

He said he was surprised that many founding members from the beginning were still enthusiastically participating, and even invited many others to share.

Mr. Le Hoang hopes that Tuoi Tre newspaper will continue to maintain and expand the School Support program because despite its development, poverty is still there. Not to mention the rising cost of living, prices, and tuition fees, so the desire for support from new students is real and the scholarship really eases some of the burden for poor students.

"15 million VND is not enough to provide financial support for studying, so we just need to make a living from the wind. Especially when people who have gone before care, the value is not just money but also encouragement, mental support and belief in the kindness of the children" - Mr. Le Hoang shared.

So the 20-year journey of the Quang Nam - Da Nang School Relay Club, where the children of Quang Nam who have become famous and successful gather, has been like a cool stream that has watered the souls of many young people in difficult times. So the journey is not only towards the 21st year but will be even longer, when the relay station named after kindness is still constantly nurtured through each annual scholarship season.
