"He's a straightforward person so he doesn't want to apologize to anyone. If he apologizes, it's like he's admitting that he didn't train well, he's lazy, and he deserves to be disciplined.
But Jadon is not like that," Benni McCarthy (a member of coach Ten Hag's coaching staff at Man Utd) revealed about the conflict between Jadon Sancho and coach Ten Hag last September, before the English striker had to leave Old Trafford to return to his old team Borussia Dortmund.

It all started when Sancho was left out of the Man Utd squad for the match against Arsenal at the beginning of the season. Coach Ten Hag later announced that Sancho was left out of the squad due to laziness in training, leading to poor performance.
However, the English striker took to social media to respond to the Dutch coach's criticism, claiming that he was just a "scapegoat" after Man Utd's defeats, and Sancho even frankly accused coach Ten Hag of being a liar.
Sancho's statements immediately caused him to suffer serious consequences, being pushed down to the youth team to practice and not allowed to eat with his teammates in the Man Utd canteen.
Coach Ten Hag declared that Sancho must apologize to return to the squad, but the £73 million star still stood his ground, causing tension between the two sides.
In January, the 24-year-old striker was forced to return to his former club Borussia Dortmund on loan. Sancho and his teammates will face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final at 02:00 on June 2 at Wembley Stadium (England).

"Ten Hag is a strong coach and said all he wanted was an apology. But Jadon thought he had done nothing wrong. He didn't understand why he had to apologize. Sometimes you have to apologize, because a player will never win against a coach.
I spoke to Jadon as a coach, a mentor, a friend and someone who grew up on the streets and understands. But Jadon doesn't see that and doesn't accept the apology.
I also spoke to coach Ten Hag and told him that this is quite delicate, and I think Jadon feels that if he apologises then he will be classed as someone who doesn't train hard, doesn't work hard, that everything will go against him," coach Benni McCarthy revealed the incident on South African radio station 947 Joburg.
Jadon Sancho is expected to start in the Champions League final between Dortmund and Real Madrid. The English striker has contributed with 2 goals and 3 assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances for the German club. He also scored 1 goal in the round of 16 of the Champions League this season.
