TPO - In recent days, Bat Trang pottery village (Gia Lam district, Hanoi ) has been submerged in water due to rising floodwaters, disrupting people's lives, business has stagnated, and some households have suffered losses of half a billion VND.

According to the reporter, the central area of ​​Bat Trang commune (Gia Lam district, Hanoi) is in a state of flooding, submerged in water, the deepest place is nearly 2m, traffic on many streets is almost paralyzed, having to use boats to move.

Bat Trang Commune is located along the Red River, with a population of more than 8,000 people. Rising floodwaters have seriously affected people's lives and businesses have been disrupted.

"The water started to flood and rise rapidly from the night of September 11. My house was knee-deep in water, so I had to gather and move my ceramic products quickly. When the rain stopped, the water stopped rising. Now it has receded a little, but not significantly. I took the opportunity to wash the items that were soaked in water," said Mr. Minh (Bat Trang commune).

"It has been 20 years since the commune was flooded so badly. Many of our products were damaged or broken due to impact and being swept away by water. We cannot count the number of damaged products yet, but the estimated damage is in the tens of millions of dong.

A large business in Bat Trang commune said it suffered more than half a billion VND in damage after the flood. "The floodwaters rose quickly, damaging the products. Many large vases worth hundreds of millions of dong were broken before they could be moved. The damage to the store is estimated at about 600 million VND," he shared.

Pairs of vases worth hundreds of millions were broken.

Many products were broken after the flood and were regretfully thrown away.

Business in the Pottery Quarter was disrupted, with most shops flooded.

On the morning of September 13, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m., the water level in the Hanoi area was 10.02 meters, 0.48 meters below alarm level 2.

Many areas remain severely affected.

Many houses and shops were submerged in water.

Schools in Bat Trang commune are all flooded, some places are more than 1 meter deep.
