Finding solutions to promote the city's innovative startup ecosystem

ĐNO - On the afternoon of June 1, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) organized a seminar on "The role of parties in promoting the innovative startup ecosystem" and closed the international conference on Danang Venture and Angel Investment - DAVAS 2024. Attending the event was Dr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises ( Ministry of Science and Technology ).

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Le Duc Vien, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that DAVAS 2024 is the first international event on venture capital and angel investment held in Da Nang .

Through 2 days of organization, DAVAS brought effective and initially useful connections for innovative start-up businesses in the city and was a premise for the Department of Science and Technology to organize events more effectively in the following years.

At the same time, it is also an opportunity for partners and investors to learn about Da Nang with its dynamic and innovative startup ecosystem, full of potential and strengths in technology and innovation.

The Department of Science and Technology hopes that the components of the Da Nang startup ecosystem will work together to build the ecosystem in the coming time, contributing to making Da Nang one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia with the role of a center for startups and innovation, becoming a solid piece of the international startup and innovation ecosystem network.

Experts participated in the discussion "The role of parties in promoting the innovative startup ecosystem" within the framework of the DAVAS 2024 event series.

Mr. Pham Duy, Head of the Investment and Training Connection Board of the National Center for Supporting Innovative Startups (NSSC), informed that the three major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang account for about 94% of the total number of innovative startups in Vietnam. The Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology to be the focal point for establishing three National Centers for Supporting Innovative Startups in the three cities.

The expected function of the National Center for Supporting Innovative Startups in Da Nang is to advise, support, connect startup networks, cooperate with localities, educational and training institutions, science and technology organizations, political - social - professional organizations; support procedures, connect domestic and foreign experts, consultants, investors to develop the regional ecosystem.

Operate centralized service models, provide services, support creative startups, connect creative startups with high-tech parks, information technology parks, technology exchanges, centers for application and transfer of scientific and technological advances in localities in the region and nationwide.

At the same time, provide public services to support the creative startup ecosystem, technology testing services, new business models; incubate, train, promote business, connect investment for creative startups; participate in building, upgrading, and operating the creative startup information portal, open creative startup platform.

The workshop listened to presentations on the orientation for developing the innovative startup ecosystem in Da Nang in the coming time; experience in building and maintaining an angel investment network from Singapore; an overview of the role of social startups and science and technology development in the goal of sustainable development; experience in developing the innovative startup ecosystem at Republic Polytechnic; connecting the ecosystem in the Central Highlands and Central region and the role of the National Startup Support Center.
