Previously, at 12:55 on July 19, 2025, the Green Bay 58 BKS QN-7105 (iron-hulled ship built in 2015) carrying 48 passengers (Vietnam) and 5 crew members departed from the Inland Waterway Terminal. The ship took tourists to visit route 2 (Sung Sot Cave - TiTop Island). At 1:30 p.m., the ship encountered a sudden storm, and at 2:05 p.m., the ship lost GPS signal.
After receiving information about the incident, the leaders of Quang Ninh province immediately mobilized functional forces and directly went to the scene to direct the forces to coordinate and urgently search and rescue. At the same time, Quang Ninh province and Military Region 3 agreed to establish a Forward Command Center at Border Guard Squadron 2, Ha Long Ward, Quang Ninh Province to command the search and rescue work.
That same evening, after receiving a report from Quang Ninh province, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and his delegation immediately returned to Quang Ninh to direct search and rescue work and visit and encourage the families of the victims.
By 9:30 p.m., rescuers had found 34 bodies and saved 10 lives. The victims were taken to hospital and are in stable condition.
* On the evening of July 19, many people and businesses in Quang Ninh province joined hands to support the reception of relatives of 53 victims from Hanoi and other localities waiting for information on those still missing.
Enterprises in the ecosystem of Mr. Dang Van Toan, Director of Business and Foreign Affairs and Co-founder of T&Y Group Trading and Tourism Company Limited, will provide 100% free accommodation for the families of the injured and deceased victims on the QN-7105 ship, when staying at the Green Suite Hotel (Bai Chay, Ha Long, Quang Ninh). The hotel will arrange 40 rooms according to the actual number of days of stay to search for the victims, along with 3 meals a day for each person.

At this time, on Bai Chay beach, Ha Long city residents were also on standby next to ambulances, bringing warm blankets and food to support the victims and their families. The spirit of “mutual love” of Quang Ninh people contributed to sharing the loss and pain with the victims’ families.
