General Secretary: Military youth must take the lead in building a strong, modern, and elite army.

On December 18 at the Ministry of National Defense , General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, met and encouraged representatives of the young generation in the army on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure to meet the outstanding youth military delegates, representing hundreds of thousands of young military personnel performing their civic duties and glorious missions across the country.

The country before the historic opportunity

On behalf of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense leaders, General Secretary To Lam commended, highly appreciated, congratulated, and thanked the achievements, contributions, pioneering spirit in facing all dangers, the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to sacrifice and contribute, and readiness to overcome difficulties and challenges of the youth of the entire army during 80 years of building, fighting, winning, and growing up.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that after 40 years of renovation, with the accumulated position and strength, with new opportunities and fortunes, our country is facing a historic opportunity to enter a new era, an era of development and prosperity, where all Vietnamese people have a prosperous and happy life, are supported to develop and get rich; and contribute more and more to peace, stability and development in the region and the world, to human happiness and civilization.

Those wishes and aspirations depend largely on the youth force, in which the military youth plays an important role, is the core, is the leader. The Party, the State and the People are waiting, have great expectations for the breakthrough, the effort to rise up, "surpass themselves" of the military youth.

Military youth must take the lead

The General Secretary suggested that young people in the army need to study and cultivate revolutionary ethics; be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, and filial to the People. Have ambitions and aspirations, strive to establish themselves and their careers, be proactive and creative, be ready to be present in all difficult and arduous places and be ready to accept new tasks; must build great ambitions in the spirit of "confidence, self-reliance, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and national pride".

The General Secretary also affirmed that youth is a period full of energy, ambition and desire to contribute; military youth is an elite part of Vietnamese youth, fully converging the nature and glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, with great potential and responsibility in implementing the Party's strategic goals.

Great ambitions must be nurtured by great passions and concrete actions; great and meaningful goals for the Party, the Fatherland and the People; established by steadfast will, high discipline and strong courage; by the qualities and spirit of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" who are always ready to fight and accept sacrifices, for the development of Vietnam, the development of the ASEAN Community and the development and peace of all mankind.

In the new revolutionary period, the General Secretary noted that young people in the army must take the lead in implementing the Party's policies, first of all, building a strong, modern, and elite army, in national digital transformation, preventing and combating waste, and in movements to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

General Secretary To Lam also requested Party committees and organizations in the army and authorities at all levels to strongly innovate the work of recruiting, training, evaluating and using military youth cadres and union members; have policies to attract young people with good qualities and high qualifications into the army. Actively bring military youth into practice to perform tasks in order to train and realize their aspirations for contribution.

The General Secretary pointed out the need to promote and innovate political and ideological education and foster revolutionary ideals for military youth. Strengthening education on revolutionary ideals and the desire to contribute must go hand in hand with setting an example for leaders and spreading good examples.

Finally, General Secretary To Lam believes that promoting the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, with full enthusiasm, determination and strong will to rise up, with a desire to contribute and great ambitions, the youth of the entire army will do their best to contribute with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to maintain the achievements of the revolution, to realize the two strategic goals of 100 years under the leadership of the Party, 100 years of the founding of the country, forever worthy of the trust, love and expectations of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the people of the whole country.
