To ensure safety and limit traffic jams during the September 2 holiday, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has planned traffic diversions and announced many hotlines to promptly support people.

Airports and bus stations are expected to be more crowded than last year.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to welcome about 125,000 passengers per day, an increase of 6% over the same period last year.

Saigon Station welcomes more than 12,800 people/day, more than double compared to 2024.

Interprovincial bus stations are forecast to increase over the same period, over 65,000 passengers/day.

Cat Lai ferry has an average of 60,000 passengers per day, Binh Khanh ferry has about 32,000 passengers, and the Can Gio - Vung Tau ferry route has increased by about 20%.

The Saigon - Vung Tau express train is expected to carry 1,000 passengers per day. Meanwhile, Metro Line 1 has also increased the number of trips from 226 to 264 per day, operating from 5am to 11pm.

Many traffic jam hotspots are warned in advance. For example, around Tan Son Nhat airport, roads such as Lang Cha Ca roundabout, Truong Son, Cong Hoa, Pham Van Dong (Truong Son - Nguyen Thai Son section) are often overloaded and will be closely monitored by the authorities.

In the area around the bus stations, congestion may occur at the Hang Xanh intersection, Binh Trieu bridge, Dinh Bo Linh - Nguyen Xi intersection (old Mien Dong bus station); National Highway 1 at the station gate, Tan Van intersection (new Mien Dong bus station); and Kinh Duong Vuong area, An Lac roundabout, National Highway 1, Vo Tran Chi street (Mien Tay bus station).

The eastern gateway routes such as An Phu intersection, Phu My bridge, Cat Lai ferry; the western and southwestern routes such as National Highway 50, Tran Van Giau street, Binh Thuan - Cho Dem expressway are also classified as high risk.

People need to avoid traffic jam hotspots and save the hotline number for support.

To limit traffic jams, Ho Chi Minh City requires bus stations, train stations, and airports to increase the number of vehicles and flexibly adjust bus and metro schedules to better connect with traffic hubs.

Bus routes to the airport, Saigon station and inter-provincial bus stations will have about 10% more trips. Authorities will be on duty and regulate at key points, while increasing inspection and handling of traffic violations, especially illegal parking, soliciting passengers or illegally increasing ticket prices.
