VHO- Nearly 418,000 pages of Han Nom documents equivalent to more than 5,210 documents have been digitized by the Thua Thien Hue Provincial General Library. However, this is not the final number because there are still many documents in the community facing the risk of damage, needing to be digitized, preserved, and promoted in value.

According to the Plan, the collection, transcription, translation, classification and preservation of documents such as royal decrees, edicts, genealogies, land registers, village conventions, administrative documents, literature, medical and historical books, etc. will be carried out in villages, clans, private homes and religious establishments in the area.

Organize classification, cataloging, and database entry of digitized Han-Nom documents; select and print Han-Nom document books, expected to be about 500 pages with 500 copies/year.

In addition, the organization provides guidance and training on the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of Han-Nom documents in Hue city. Builds an application to manage Han-Nom databases, connecting the Hue City General Library to commune and ward libraries.

Hue City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with units and localities to effectively implement Plan 408/KH-UBND.

In 5 years (from 2020 to 2024), Hue City General Library has coordinated with units to digitize nearly 131,000 pages of Han - Nom documents, with about 2,866 documents. The collection and digitization work has been deployed since 2009, contributing to raising awareness of preserving and promoting the value of Han - Nom documents in villages, communes and clans in the area.

According to experts, Hue City is the locality that “owns” a huge amount of Han-Nom documents. The digitized Han-Nom documents are all original and diverse with many different materials and types of documents with rich content, valuable in many fields.
