On October 1, Quang Ninh Prison under Department C10 of the Ministry of Public Security announced the President's decision to grant amnesty to 33 prisoners serving prison sentences who are eligible for amnesty in 2024.

Among the 33 prisoners granted amnesty, there are 6 people from Quang Ninh. They all have a good rehabilitation process, voluntarily complying with the provisions of the law and the place of detention; the longest sentence reduction period is 3 years and 3 months, the shortest is 8 days; for the crimes of abusing position in the performance of official duties, fraud to appropriate property, disturbing public order, organizing illegal entry for others...
During the amnesty review process, Quang Ninh Prison coordinated with relevant units to implement it closely, openly, fairly, accurately and ensure democracy according to the provisions of law.

Amnesty is one of the humane and lenient policies of our Party and State to create conditions for repentant prisoners to have the opportunity to quickly reintegrate into the community to rebuild their lives. This is also a motivation to help prisoners serving prison sentences to be more active in studying, training and working, striving to soon return to their families and become useful people to society.
In order for prisoners who have been granted amnesty to reintegrate into the community and stabilize their lives soon, 1 month before, Quang Ninh Prison opened reintegration classes for prisoners who were proposed for amnesty, thereby disseminating the provisions of the law so that after returning to their locality, they can quickly reintegrate into the community and not re-offend. At the same time, coordinate with local police to carry out procedures to receive documents to issue ID cards to prisoners; coordinate with businesses to provide consulting and employment support, creating conditions for prisoners to have opportunities to find jobs after reintegrating into the community.

This morning, Quang Ninh Prison issued ID cards, phone SIM cards, and transferred patients for treatment. The unit also arranged a car to take those who live far away and have no relatives to pick them up to Dong Trieu bus station to return to their families.
