The ancient Tet atmosphere at the Hue Royal Palace under the Nguyen Dynasty is recreated
The program "Old scent of Tet cakes" organized by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center at Can Chanh Palace yard, Hue Imperial City on February 6th in a space filled with spring colors, with traditional costumes, spring flowers, red parallel sentences, and royal and folk games such as: Pink lottery, card games; calligraphy performance, and word gifting.
The traditional Tet atmosphere has come very close with the atmosphere of wrapping Chung cake, Tet cake, pots of Tet cake, Chung cake filled with the warmth of wood stoves...
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung, Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said that along with the Ban Soc ceremony (calendar giving ceremony) and the Neu raising ceremony, "Old scent of Tet cakes" Spring Tan Suu 2021 is a meaningful activity to kick off the year with experiences of the old Tet scents through traditional colors.
With "Old scent of Tet cakes", the images of old Hue rice, especially the atmosphere of wrapping Chung cake, Tet cake and steaming pots of Chung cake, imbued with the rich flavor of Tet are recreated.
In particular, along with the Chung cake and Tet cake wrapping contest, “Old scent of Tet cakes” is more bustling with Hue songs and spring songs. The program also recreates the ceremony of offering cakes to ancestors.
