From left to right, there are 4 scenes (tetralogy) as follows: Painting 1: Above: Kieu sells herself to Ma Giam Sinh to redeem her father from prison. This guy takes Kieu to Lam Tri and hands her over to Tu Ba, the owner of the brothel. The painting illustrates the scene of Kieu following Ma Giam Sinh after leaving her parents' home. The verse with the caption is as follows: The wind suddenly urges the Qin clouds A carriage in the mortal world seems to fly In this section from right to left includes: Ma Giam Sinh riding a horse, followed by a servant holding an umbrella. Kieu sits in the carriage pulled by a servant and another servant holding an umbrella. Below: Kieu and Tu Hai repay their gratitude and revenge. Poem caption: After repaying their gratitude, they will pretend to take revenge. Tu said: leave that matter to her. Painting 2: Tu Hai became the leader of the area where Kieu lived. He ordered the palace maids to find and bring Kieu back to the palace. Painting caption above: The royal concubine followed. Said: I obeyed the order and only brought her to the palace. I raised the flag and fired the gun. Tu Cong rode out on his horse to welcome her at the gate. We can see Tu Cong on the right riding a horse, Kieu on the left in a carriage pulled by a maid, behind is a maid holding a hammock and parasol. Painting 3: Above: The first meeting of Thuy Kieu and Tu Hai. After ending her love affair with Thuc Sinh, Kieu married a man named Bac Sinh. This man took her to Chau Thai and sold her to a brothel. Tu Hai one day stopped by the brothel to have fun, met Kieu and fell in love with her. One autumn, the cool breeze filled the air. Suddenly, a guest from the border came to visit. Bottom part: Hoan Thu suddenly appeared when Thuc Sinh secretly went to see Kieu who was living in seclusion at Quan Am pagoda. From right to left, Kieu, Thuc Sinh, Hoan Thu and Hoa No. Smiling and talking sweetly, asking him where he had just come to visit.
