An Giang proactively responds to storm Matmo near the East Sea

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm Matmo is in the sea east of the Philippines and will enter the East Sea at noon on October 4, becoming storm number 11. The Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province requested departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to proactively deploy measures to respond to storm Matmo near the East Sea.

The Provincial Military Command proactively coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant units to closely monitor forecasts, warnings and developments of the storm; promptly notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

The Department of Construction directs the work of ensuring safety for transport vessels on rivers and at sea; reviews and is ready to deploy work to ensure safety for civil works, construction activities, and traffic safety during the time affected by storms.

The Department of Tourism directs the implementation of work to ensure safety for tourists and tourism activities, especially at sea, on islands and coastal areas.

Localities should effectively implement the "4 on-site" motto; strengthen inspection and deploy plans to ensure safety for people and tourists on the islands; organize warnings and put up warning signs in dangerous areas...
